Setting recurring dates at the end of the month

U

Has anyone noticed whether the system will take into account the number of days in a month? For example, I have a couple of tasks I need to complete on the last day of some months. So if I set it for "ev 3 months starting aug 30," will it still schedule it at the end of February even though there isn't a 30th?

Hello Michele,

Technically this should have been possible, but unfortunately, all dates that include "month" are currently being treated as "30 days" so a task due "every 3 months" will work exactly as "every 30 days".

We'll look into changing this so it will use the correct day count, but for now, as a workaround, the best option for quarterly tasks would be to set up 4 different tasks with the same name, set one to "every 30 Sep", the other one to "ev 30 Nov" and so on. Each will correctly be rescheduled for the next year, but as the date approaches, you will only see the one in the 7 days view.

In case of tasks that recur each month on the last day, you can use the date "ev lday" or "every last day" and these will be scheduled for the last day of each month using the correct day counts.

Best regards,
David

Hi,

I'd like to add that I'm missing some of the recurring options I used in OmniFocus. In particular, "every X months on the Yth" (mainly for quarterly tasks, but other times for other intervals).

Thanks,
Brian
