Uncompleting: Sub-Tasking Indented Completed Tasks
When a task is "uncompleted", it picks up other completed tasks, with higher indent levels, and also makes them uncompleted as sub-tasks.
This makes sense why this happens, but sometimes I find myself completing something and quickly wanting to undo the completion. When I do that, there are instances where the sub-tasks get other, recently uncompleted tasks appended to them.
Is there a workflow for getting around this that I have not thought of? Do indented tasks go into the completed section individually once they are marked as completed instead of getting "completed" once the "super"-task is complete?
When you complete a task that has sub-tasks - all of them get completed. And therefore, when you un-complete the parent task - its sub-tasks are being un-completed as well because a parent/sub structure is treated as "one big thing to do".
You can move individual sub-tasks to the history either by right-clicking on them and choosing "Move to history" or by holding the SHIFT key while checking it off. In that case, even when you complete and un-complete their parent task, such sub-tasks won't be brought back as they've been moved there as individuals.
That's interesting. Thank you for the explanation!
I did not know about moving individual tasks to history, but maybe my problem is coming from accidentally doing that.
I am not sure, but I think I will have to play around with uncompleting items more to see if I am actually encountering a problem, or if I am just stumbling over a feature.
