Email no longer arriving in in-box

CD

I allowed my Premium membership to lapse for about 2 weeks in July, but upon renewing my Premium membership, I find my emails from my gmail account are no longer arriving in my Todoist in-box. Has my project address changed because of the lapse? Emails are not bouncing back as they did during the lapsed period, so I don't know where they are going now.

Hi Cliff,

There shouldn't have been any change to the email addresses through your lapse. I would suggest checking the email address through the menu to make sure. The address to send too as well as the accepted emails as well.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

I think I just figured it out. I used to have an IN BOX that I created myself in Todoist some years ago, and that's where my mail always arrived. Once you introduced the standardized IN BOX for all accounts recently, I moved tasks out of my original IN BOX and then started using the one Todoist staff created instead. I then deleted my original "homemade" IN BOX.

I really wish I could get the old project number back (much shorter than the one automatically assigned to the new default IN BOX), and apply it to the new Todoist default IN BOX. Is that possible?

Also, can you tell me where my emails have been going?

Cliff

Cliff,

I'm sorry, but I do not seem to understand what you are referring to. What exactly do you mean by "project number"?

If the project was deleted then the emails have been going no where. I will let the developers know about this and let you know what they say about those emails.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello Cliff,

Unfortunately, if you've sent mails to a project that didn't exist anymore, they will not reappear as task and we won't be able to retrieve them. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As for the project number - although the email format is and was always the same, the project number might have been shorter if it was a very old project, but you don't have to type it in when you sent an email. Simply add the address of our Inbox as a contact, add a short name for it and select it as if you were sending an email to a person.

Best regards,
David

Brendon: I'm referring to the email address that each project/list has assigned to it (e.g. project.123456XXXX@todoist.net)

David: I was used to using the project # for my former inbox when emailing to it since it was short and easy to remember, but yes, I guess I can just rename it under my contacts.

Thanks to both.
