Append new item hotkey not working?

YK

Hi. When modifying an item, I tried to save it and append a new item below by pressing Enter, but it doesn't look like it's working right now. The item saves, but a new input box did not show up.
Same problem when I tried to append a new item above.

I've also tried Shift-Enter, Command-Enter, and Control-Enter, but none of these works.

I'm still able to add new tasks, and use Command-Left/RightArrow to indent them.

Hello Yee,

Enter only shows a new input field if you use the "Add task" link within a project. If you edit an existing task, then Enter only saves the changes without opening a new field.

Ctrl+Enter and Shift+Enter are the shortcuts that should save the change and open an input field above or below, but I can confirm that they indeed seem not to work right now. I have passed this issue to the developers and we'll look into it as soon as we can. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Just checked again, it seems to be fixed now. Thanks!

BTW, in the Keyboard shortcuts section of the Usage Reference, the shortcut for "Save current item and append a new item below it" is shown as "Enter" and not "Shift+Enter".

Cheers,
Yee

Yee,

This issue has now been fixed and you can save and append below with SHIFT+Enter and save and append above with CTRL+Enter.

Best regards,
David

Yee,

Yes, it's indeed unclear in the documentation, we'll fix this too. Note - Enter itself does append a new task below, but only when you're adding a new task, not when you're editing an existing task.

Best regards,
David
