German charakters are not displayed correctly ...

Y

... they are always changing to wrong symbols and I must correct them continuously, that's so annoying!

It would be nice, if someone could put any paths from the desktop into the tasks!

Hello,

Please clarify - how are you accessing Todoist? On the web, desktop, plugins, mobile? And in what circumstances and which German characters are you referring to?

I've just tried to use üöäß in a task and they're shown correctly on the web-app.

Best regards,
David

Hello David,

i have the same problem (german windows XP):
I can create a new entry with symbols like "öäüß". But older entries with these charakters are not shown correctly:

- android: a rectangular with "OBJ" () in it is shown for each "äöü"
- windows xp: the charakters are missing, in sourcecode there is an " " instead of the correct character, too.
- todoist.com (firefox): correct, but i have seen the () once before, too.

I don't know, why these characters are changing sometimes.

best regards,
robert.

Robert,

Please clarify - is your Android phone set to German? What version of our Android app are you using? Please send us a screenshot of this issue to david@doist.io

Regarding the Windows app - we're working on this right now, it can be temporarily "fixed" by adding a new task on the web and then using the sync icon (bottom-right corner) in the Windows app.

Best regards,
David

Robert,

Thank you for this information, but please also let us know which version of our app you're using. Is it 1.3?

Robert,

Thank you for the shots. Unfortunately, we're unable to reproduce this issue. You've said that you can't either for new tasks only old ones that have changed.

Can you remember when exactly you've noticed it? After you've installed the new Android update or the new Windows desktop app update?

We're aware of a similar issue in the Windows app which affected many different international characters, but nothing like this on Android.

Best regards,
David

Hi,

I'm rather new in todoist and android. So I don't know, when this happened exactly.
In windows, this behaviour was there before the last update. I was looking for help, have seen the new update, installed, and it was gone. but it is here again. it was all in the last days.

will look for it further and will inform you, when i have more infos.

Best regards,
robert.

Hi David,

just restarted my PC, and many ä / ü / ö are wrong, again.
After a new sync, it's wrong on my android device, too.

Best regards,
robert.

Robert,

We're sorry to hear that, we'll look into it, we suspect the Windows app to cause this issue as we're unable to reproduce this on any Android device so far.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

the error ist back. There is not even one (1) "ä", "ü" odr "ö" any more (Windows-Client).
Android-SW works fine.

Best regards,
robert.

Robert,

We're sorry for the inconvenience and the delays, we're working on a rewrite of our Windows app which will address these issues.

Best regards,

It seems to work now. Tested it for a few weeks (months?).
Thank you.
