AltGr+A gets overriden by Todoist

A

Hello,

I installed Todoist Windows Client on Windows 8. Now when I press AltGr + A the Todoist window gets opened. In the Todoist configuration I see that another key combination is assigned to this action: Ctrl + Alt + A.

The problem is that on my keyboard layout the AltGr + A combination is assigned to a special letter. Actually it is a common practice to use AltGr for typing non-english letters like for example "ā" or special characters like "©".

On Windows Ctrl + Alt is used to substitute AltGr in case it is missing. It would be probably a good idea to use something else instead of Ctrl + Alt.

Some background to AltGr and Ctrl+Alt: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2004/03/29/101121.aspx

Also I cannot change the key combination in Todoist Configuration. Is it possible at all?

Hello,

Please change the keyboard shortcut in the configuration of the app. It is possible and to do so, right-click on the TD tray icon, go to "Configuration" then click with the left mouse button on one of the shortcuts you want to edit, it will highlight and while it's highlighted, press any key combination on your keyboard that you would like this shortcut to be assigned to. You will see it change in the field right away.

Best regards,
David

Thanks for the tip! Somehow I did not understand how it works.

Can I disable Shortcuts completely?

Unfortunately, that's not possible, but you if you want to make sure you won't accidentally trigger this shortcut, you can set a very complex one that can't be used accidentally, for example: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Semicolon
