Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right are not working when editing task text

A

In Windows in any text box you can use Ctrl key together with left and right arrow keys to navigate whole words. However in the Todoist web app opened in Firefox it is not working when I try to create a task. Same problem is in the Todoist Windows client. Please fix :-)

Hello,

In Todoist Ctrl+RightArrow and Ctrl+LeftArrow are used to indent tasks or projects to create sub-tasks and sub-projects. To jump to the beginning or end of the line, please use the Home and End keys instead.

This does not affect task notes, though so if you have a long text that should be added as a task, please try Todoist Premium for the option to add notes without any limitation in length.

Best regards,
David

In Chrome both things happen at the same time: Whenever you want to indent a task you will also put your cursor a whole word in that direction. Please choose non-competing shortcuts!
(or give us the option to self define shortcuts)

I absolutely love your product but that is seriously anoying.

Hello,

Thank you for your report, we'll look into it. For now, as a workaround, please try to indent tasks after or before you type in their name.

Best regards,
David

Thanks for your reply.

For me it is inconvenient that common shortcuts are not working in the Todoist. It is almost like overriding Ctrl+C shortcut :-)

Task indentation with hot keys is helpful, but I would suggest you to find some other key combination.

Hello,

The issue regarding the cursor jumping through words in addition to indenting tasks has now been fixed and this shortcut will only indent tasks in project view and only jump through words in search results.

Best regards,
David

Can I add my voice to those that would really like the Ctrl+Left/Right shortcut for indenting/outdenting to be changed (or the option to disable it completely) as I much prefer to be able to use Ctrl+Left/Right to jump forward/backward by a word at a time. For me the time saved by having a shortcut for indenting is far outweighed by the number of times I want to jump words and have to hit the cursor key for every letter I want to move.

Thanks
