Manually sorting Priority tasks
I noticed that in various views (like looking at "today" tasks), I can then manually sort them so I know what order I want to do today's task.
But when I look at priority tasks (like priority 1), there is no way to manually sort from there to prioritize the priority tasks. Is there a way to do this?
You can change the order of any task on the today list including prioritized tasks and the new order should stay as you've set it (I've just checked and it seems to work). However, if the tasks you're trying to reorder have due times, then this won't be possible as tasks with due times are always on top and ordered by their times.

I'm trying to reorder tasks in the Priority 1 list. If they all do not have due dates, am I able to do this?
I'm able to do it with the Today list. And that's exactly what I'm trying to do with the Priority1 List.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. That's correct, the list that shows only tasks of a certain priority can't be reordered. There are many technical difficulties to make such option possible as each task would have to carry dozens of properties about its position in relation to other tasks on every possible view and considering that the possibilities of different lists and views are almost limitless with the advanced search system, we've limited the option to reorder tasks to the most standard views that is - today or 7 days.
Nonetheless, you're welcome to add a request for enabling it in other views to our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/ and we may consider it in the future.
Thanks David. If you have any alternative suggestions, let me know. I prefer to not use the "due date" feature because I am always missing them:) I would like to just designate tasks as "important" and then be able to re-arrange the list of important tasks manually to further prioritize.
would using labels instead of the priorities help you accomplish what you need.
An alternative would be to properly plan your due dates ;-)
As Andy said - labels could be a good alternative. You can have an unlimited amount of labels, call them as you want (@next, @urgent, @home etc.) and with Todoist Premium, even color-code them.
Of course trying to see when and why you miss deadlines could be also helpful to increase your productivity. You can try a combination of both :)
Labels still do not do what I am seeking.
If they did, I would be able to sort by label, but then manually sort *again* within the label (drag and drop) to organize the tasks with a certain label.

I understand, the suggestion was to use more labels than priorities so that, for example, instead of having 30 tasks all with the same priority and then having to reorder them, you would have 2-3 tasks each with a unique label so you wouldn't need to reorder them and since there are no limitations in how many unique labels you can have, you could add simple number labels @1, @2, @3 etc.
Of course that would just be a workaround, as I've said earlier, you're welcome to add a request to our Votebox and we may consider enabling reordering in more different views.
