PC Desktop Function & iPad Syncing

BH

I am the support person for a sales executive that really wants to use this application with his Outlook desktop application to work with his iPhone and iPad.

Todoist is simply not working on his PC with Outlook. When he plugs in his phone, iTunes is popping up and interfering. The tasks are syncing on his iPhone but not on the iPad after downloading the app and logging in to his account.

We have done the whole reinstall, log out/log back in routine. Please help with a solution or troubleshooting ASAP as this is slowing down our productivity. I need a prompt answer or we will have to uninstall and look for a better Outlook task management/integration application.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Bernice,

When you say that Todoist is not working with Outlook, what exactly happens when you try to use it? Are there any error messages? Does it simply not show up in Outlook? Which version of Outlook are you running, version of Windows?

iTunes is not needed when using the Outlook plugin, and so there is no reason for iTunes to be interfering with it. When you say this, do you mean iTunes stops Outlook from loading?

Please make sure that he is logged into the same account (same email address) on all devices. We do have the ability to sign in/create with Google, which can sometimes create another account.

Thanks,
Brendon.

ANSWER: It opens with the plug in showing but the window just says it cannot open the website. It gives the option of going back which puts it in a continual spin.

Does it simply not show up in Outlook?
Which version of Outlook are you running, version of Windows? ANSWER: Outlook 2010, windows 7

ANSWER: The result that has occurred since loading todoist is that itunes will not open. When plug iphone in on docking station plugged into pc, itunes automatically opens. Now it appears to be stuck in a load position.

Please make sure that he is logged into the same account (same email address) on all devices. We do have the ability to sign in/create with Google, which can sometimes create another account.

ANSWER: All devices are logged on with the same account.

Bernice,

Please try un-installing the current plugin for Outlook, clear the cache for IE (as the plugin uses this) and install this un-released version.

As for iTunes, there is no reason for our Plugin to cause another program to not open, this is the first we are hearing of an issue like this. The version above could solve this, but it sounds more of an issue with iTunes. If you don't have Outlook open, when you plug the phone in does iTunes open? Does iTunes open if you manually open it?

The only reason we know of that a device will not sync is if the account is different, and logging out and back in again is also something that tends to fix this issue, as well as un-install and re-install. Please try un-installing the app on the iPad and then install it again.

I know you have said you have done this, but I do suggest trying it again.

Thanks,
Brendon.
