Printing problems

K

I'm on Windows 7 Professional and I am having significant issues. The Windows app is not printing at all. When I click "Print current page" the print view pops up, but then no print dialogue box to execute the print appears and I see no way to actually print the page. This just started happening this week.

Also, when using the Todoist Firefox extension (because the Windows app is not working) I keep getting blank pages when I try to print all projects, or even single projects. Today I printed a single project because I couldn't get the "All projects" print to work and it printed blank pages before and after a middle page that only included some of the project information.

These printing issues are significant and are significantly impacting my productivity at work. Please help.

Korin,

Please try installing this un-released version of the app. It currently requires you to right click "Run As Admin" for the installation to work.

This will use your default browser when printing, let me know if you continue not being able to print.

As for Firefox, you get blank pages on the "View All" query in the Todoist extension? Or you get blank pages once you have actually printed it?

Have you printed anything else (outside of Todoist) and it does not cause the same issues? Does this happen on a view such as "Today"?

Please try clearing the cache for Firefox.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

I am getting blank printed pages. The app appears fine in my firefox browser. The issue is entirely with printing.

I have not had issues printing anything outside of Todoist. I just cleared my Firefox cache and had the same printing issue again.

Thanks for the new version of the Windows app. For some reason, the browser page is not loading after it is launched from the "Print current page" command in the app. But the "Open Todoist.com" link is working and that does allow me to print. HOWEVER, it is still printing the last 4 (of 11) pages of my "all projects" view as blank pages. It cuts off the text halfway through page 6 of 11 and then pages 7-11 are blank except for the Todoist header. I need my complete project list to print. I rely on this for work. Can you help?

Korin,

Which version of Firefox are you using? I am un-able to reproduce this issue on 22.0.

Are you behind any proxies or Firewalls? This could cause the print current page command not to load.

As for the printing blank pages, how many tasks do you have on that one Project you tried to print?

Thanks,
Brendon.

i've just updated my firefox to version 22.0. Still have the same issue printing from there.

Yes, I use Todoist at work so I assume I am behind a firewall since we definitely have network security managed by our IT department. This printing issue is new. I have been using Todoist to manage my work agenda for several months now and have never had this printing issue until this week.

I have 9 open tasks and several more completed tasks on the project I tried to print that returned blank pages. I also have 17 projects in total. Is it a matter of volume that makes the printing difficult?

I was just able to print that single project successfully by clicking "Opent Todoist.com" in the Windows app, and then selecting "print current page" from my default browser window (Internet Explorer 9). I will use the web app in IE from now on until there is a fix for the Windows app. Right now, the following functions are not working on the Windows app:

1. "Print Current page"--the web page does not load.
2. clicking the "TD" icon in the bottom of the app window--again, the web page does not load. I will send you a screenshot.

Korin,

Unfortunately, we are un-able to reproduce this issue. When we try to print all projects or just one, within the Windows App, Firefox or another browser it prints without creating blank pages.

I would suggest clearing the cache for IE, and all browsers to see if that resolves this issue.

Without being able to reproduce it, it becomes hard to solve the issue. If there is anything else you can think of that is done, task names, how they were created, anything, it could help in solving this.

Thanks,
Brendon.
