documents stored as notes in tasks
Hi i like to use the tasks and attach relevant files to tasks. what is the security of theses files, Looks like these are stored on some third party cloud service.
what will happen when i delete the task, will these files also gets removed from cloud ?
All files are stored on very secure servers. Cloudfront is a service from Amazon Web Services that we use (one of the most secure services out there). These files are left untouched for the most part. We may delete files that haven't been accessed for a long time.
To sum it up, your files are as secure as they can be :)
Is there anyway i can control when to delete those files ? If i delete the tasks/remove the comments does that mean the files are deleted ?
Basically, we keep backups of everything that happens with Todoist, in case someone needs to recover data. There is no way to choose to permanently remove these files as of now, but we will consider changing this in future updates.
So to answer your question, no they aren't deleted. They are gone on your end, but are still available on our end. We do not access this information, even when we do, we do not have the ability to actually read/change anything.
I hope this clarifies everything.
that is helpful info , thanks
In addition to what Brendon said, please note that all uploaded files are stored fully encrypted and the server we use for that (part of Amazon's Web Services) is a dedicated server set up just for secure file storage with random patch generations, encryption and other security measurements so it's basically impossible to retrieve any file from there.
Is all user data encrypted on AWS or only files?
All information is encrypted on AWS :)
That's great! :-)
