Sorting by color
Before I purchase the premium version i would like to know if i may sort all tasks (regardless of project), by color. In my case I am using colors as a location identifier and wouldl like to see all tasks open for thaat location.
Please clarify - what colors are you referring to? You can color-code each project and on your today list, you'll see the colors of the projects next to the tasks, you can enter each project just to see tasks related to it.
If you're referring to priorities - all tasks on date-based views are ordered by priority automatically and you can also re-sort all tasks by priority within a project (just hit "p" on your keyboard).
If you're referring to labels, with Todoist Premium you can also color-code each label, then just click on this label to see all tasks related to it, or simply search for it (type @home, for example, in the search field).
Thanks for the quick response. To clarify, I am new to todoist (yesterday) and am asking the question before I buy premium so I am not disappointed.
What I am hoping to do is use color as a site location differentiation as I have many of the same 'projects' for each site. In this manner, I will be able to sort by either 'project' for those tasks (which will include all sites) or by 'color' for all tasks for each site.
I hope that is clear.
In that case, if you'll have multiple projects with the same name, you can indeed assign different colors to them and these colors are shown next to the project name in any search result.
Ok - i will give it a try and see how it goes.
Can you assign these colors only in premium or also in basic? I'm visual and would like to sort my day by color vs by the project name.
No, you couldn't sort by color specifically. Depending on the view, they are sorted by date, name or priority, not color though.
