Todoist for Windows stuck on Date and Time Insertion page

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Todoist for Windows. It starts up by showing the Date and Time Insertion page. There is no navigation, pressing Esc does nothing. All I can do is click a Print button or a New Window button. How do I get back to the home page?

All responses

Hi Alan,

Please un-install the application, clear the cache for Internet Explorer (as this is needed for the app) and make sure you have .NET Framework 4 installed.

Then re-install the application. Let me know if that fixes it.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Thanks for the quick response. I uninstalled, cleared the cache, clear the cookie(s) for the todoist.com domain, even logged out & back in, then re-installed the application (which went smoothly). Started it up, and it continues to show the Date and Time Insertion page. I ran Fiddler while it started up. Here's the sequence of requests:

BTW - I'm running Windows 8, 64b. .NET 4.0 is definitely on the system (actually 4.5, but what is half a version between friends? ;-) )

Hi Alan,

Please try to install this version (after removing the current one) and let me know if it solves the problem. This is an un-released version.

Sorry, but that's even worse. The app dies almost immediately after starting. Here's the Event Log report:

Hi Alan,

Sorry about that, I was hoping this release was going to work for you. We are aware of this issue and are working on it as we speak. We hope to find a solution soon.

In the meantime you could try to install one of the earlier versions of the app which shouldn't have these issues:
- https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/2c5b1516105eca09eb663f9c8b8c742a/as/Todoist_for_Windows.exe

Sorry for the troubles.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi,

Also have this problem, it started last night. Tried the latest download having cleared cache etc as described above with no joy.

Am also using WIndows 8 64bit. The final link from Alan above works for me too.

Thanks,
