Changing my "start page"

JL

Todoist opens to a default page in my projects list. I don't understand why, and I would like it to open to the page of my choice ("actions today"). When I go to "settings", I see there is a window where I should be able to select my "start page". It seems to have no effect. Can you help? -- Thanks

Hi Jimmy,

Please clarify, you click on the "gear" icon at the top right corner, go to Settings, and under Start Page, you choose Custom Query, and then edit, and you put "actions, today" and hit Save.

What happens when you close Todoist, and reopen it? Does it go to the default start page (overdue, today) or does it go somewhere else.

Please try logging out and back in again.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Thanks, for your help, Brendon. I have followed your suggestions to select 'custom query' > enter ACTIONS TODAY! > save. I have tried both closing Todoist and logging out and in. When Todoist re-opens, the field at the very top of the projects column says ACTIONS TODAY!. While In the tasks column it says, 'Search for ACTIONS TODAY!'.

Previously it would default to a project page that is named under a certain category in my projects column. It now opens to no page selection, but carries the 'Search for ACTIONS TODAY!' as an open task in the task column.

I first started trying to accomplish opening to my 'ACTIONS TODAY! category, because the program seemed to have a default selection capability. I assumed I could ask it to choose my ACTIONS TODAY! page from the projects column, which would be more convenient for my routine.

Hi Jimmy,

Please clarify, is Actions Today a project name?

If this is a project, then when you go to the Settings area, you should be able to choose that project as your Start Page, and there is no need for a custom query.

I was beliving you has tasks that were named with Action, so "action, Today" is searching for those tasks, and today. Please confirm.

Thanks,
Brendon.

That's great! Thank you, Brendon, that solved it. My 'ACTIONS TODAY' is a category title in my projects column. I had done everything correctly in my first effort, but needed to log off and back in to enact the change. It's now working! I love Todoist!
