Ipad app - a comment, not a question.
I find it very discerning and disappointing that Todoist can't deliver an iPad version of the app. I paid for 2 years last year on faith that a dedicated iPad version release would be imminent. I keep hearing that an awesome iPad app is in development and will be out "soon" Been hearing that for over 6 months.
I use an iPad for task management, calendar and note taking and am getting ready to start a new project and need a solid task manager on my iPad.
I through waiting.
We never give a timeframe or a release date because we spend most of the time concentrating on a great application that everyone will be happy with.
We are sorry you feel that way, but the iPad app will be coming very soon. It's basically done, just finishing up a few things before release.
It will be worth the wait.
Can you advise if it will be here in at least days/weeks/months terms?
I am in a similar situation and have started looking at alternatives but would rather stay if it wont much longer.
In some ways it is ironic that a productivity app about completing tasks and getting some done is so vague in terms of schedules/deliverables/timeframes.
We feel it's better to worry about the quality of the product then to worry about giving a deadline. This way if we need more time we do not disappoint anyone.
It should be within a few months though, hoping :)
Thanks for the response - much appreciated.
I work in the same industry so understand where you are coming from and appreciate the update, even if it is not what I want to hear as I would love it sooner as I love the rest of the overall system, just wanting the crown jewel if you like!!
One other thing...please, please, please make sure the note input/display box is not some small, pokey little box especially if it is 'modal' and the rest of the screen isn't usable at the time.
If there is one thing I hate about apps it is that they don't use the available real estate efficiently and compromise usbiltity in the process!
Thank you for your feedback, we will certainly improve this in the new app.
Make a Survey with your Users. They may be willing to pay extra for an ipad app if you can promise to deliver sooner than later. I know I would. Then you can hire extra people and get it done faster. Even a "beta" version would be better than nothing. I am in the same position, thinking about moving on because the ipad app is a crucial part in my work flow that is missing. I use the website at the moment but that is cumbersome and Noy works when I have an Internet connection.
We're sorry for the delays. We would prefer not to let our users cover the development costs and also, expanding the team isn't always a solution as some delays aren't caused by the lack of resources, sometimes some design decisions simply need to be changed as they don't work as we've expected (from the usability point of view) and that's something where a bigger team wouldn't make much of a difference.
Again, we're very sorry for all these delays, the good news is - the app is basically ready almost ready to launch and we're sure you'll love it and of course we'll always continue to improve it over time.
Hi David Trey,
If the iPad app is "basically ready", I think that you can give us a date! Can't you?
Unfortunately we can't as it's unclear how long it will take Apple to approve it so any estimate will be inaccurate, but it's currently in late beta, we're just patching up a couple minor issues and it'll be published very soon :)
