Promoting and Demoting tasks (shifting tasks right or left to nest under other tasks)

ES

At this time, I have to click to edit a task before I'm allowed to promote or demote tasks. Clicking to edit then clicking to demote or promote seems like a lot of clicking, and I instinctively want to grab and drag.

Since I can grab a task at the left edge and drag up and down in a project, is there any way I can grab it on the left edge and drag it left or right?

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. Feel free to add it to our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/ We are always looking to improve and this could be a possibility in the future :)

Also, remember holding down "Ctrl" and the arrow keys work as well for indenting tasks. We find this to be quite quick as well.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello,

Additionally, you can change the indent level without using the edit mode by grabbing a task by it's drag & drop handle and while holding it, using the number keys 1, 2, 3 or 4 to set its indent level.

Best regards,
David

When I add a task , it is appended to the bottom of the project. I would like to move it using keys. CTRL-Left/Right is great to demote/promote. However, CTRL-Up/Down selects different tasks; it should move the selected task up/down.

Hello Raghu,

That's unfortunately not possible right now, but we'll consider adding such option in the future and you're welcome to vote for this request in our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/731/
