offline mode in mac not working

JV

Today I wanted to access my todo list while offline and the app showed a blank page. I reconnected my wifi and the app worked, I was already logged in since the day it was installed.
So I tried to test again without internet and the same blank page showed up!

I'm testing todoist among other similar apps, and this is a mayor drawback, and as suggested in other tickets, I dont want to use my mobile phone to use todoist, what's the point on having a notebook if you cant use it while on the road/plane without internet?

Hello Jacobo,

Please tell me - are you closing the app of logging out? If you leave it open and are logged in permanently, then you should be able to access it offline.

Best regards,
David

Hello David,

The application was closed. I tested now and it shows up if it's kept open. In my opinion it would be better if working on todoist lists wouldn't depend on being connected. Imagine if you pc closes, you need to find a wifi spot to keep working.

I have the same problem: you can't stay connected if you close the app. so if you close the app you're automatic logged out. and when you re-open the app you're not allowed to access your data because you can't log in. pls fix it

We will consider improving this, but it depends a lot on Safari's handling of HTML5. Our app uses Safari's engine to connect and unfortunately, that's how Safari handles offline storage.

David

I understand. I was evaluating upgrade to a premium subscription, but if I am not able to access tasks I believed saved on my mac it's a big pain

Silvio,

Both our mobile apps - for iPhone and Android (and soon also iPad) can be accessed completely offline.

Todoist is primarily a cloud-based service and unfortunately, some issues with offline accessibility are a trade-off for having the ability to manage, access and sync them across 9 platforms . We'll try to improve the offline access in future updates, though and hope to find a solution to cache the data differently.

Best regards,
David

Yes but productivity declines while using a mobile phone, work excels using a computer. If your app is targeted at productivity, then mobile devices such as mobile phones, shouldn't be the target.
