Is there a way to leave events on the calendar?

K

I use todoist in lieu of a calendar. I love that todoist events sync as a calendar on Gcal. However, once a task is complete it disappears from my calendar. So now there is no way to see past events. Is there a way to avoid getting them deleted?

Hi,

There is no option to switch off the removal of a task from the calendar when it's completed.

With Todoist Premium, you get access to the list of your completed tasks across all projects with their completion dates and you can print this list or make a screenshot if you need to send it for revision.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Yes I've had todoist premium for a very long time. But you're missing the point. Screenshots??? Really?
The whole point is to quickly scan back through my calendar for past events. It looks like a ghost town once I complete stuff. Browsing a completed task list is also inefficient. Can you come up wit another solution? Copy a completed task to a new calendar (todoist-completed)?

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience, we are in the process of adding our own calendar system, which would give you exactly what you want.

And we are always looking to improve, so it's possible the current calendar feature will be improved in the future.

You can vote on it in our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/23/

Thanks,
Brendon.

Thanks Brendon. It would be great if I could just add that calendar feed to my Gcal too. But I'll go ahead and vote for this feature.
Cheers.

I think this feature is GREATLY needed!!!

I'm trying to use Tadoist to replace my calendar as well which is working when tasks have yet to be completed BUT the fact that these disappear when I tick them off is causing me issues. I don't like to live in the past but there are times when I need to review previous dates of meetings or events etc.

Any update on what these changes to the calendar might look like?

Hello Carl,

Thank you for your feedback. As mentioned earlier, we will implement our own calendar module into Todoist in the future and we'll certainly consider such option in it.

Best regards,
David

I'm a bit confused as I am having the opposite experience.
I create a task and assign it to be completed today.
Now it shows up in my iCal/Google feed for an all-day task. Ok.
I finish my task, refresh, and it's still there, like I still need to complete it (on the calendar only)
You guys sound like it's the exact opposite for you, which is actually what I would prefer instead of seeing calendar tasks for stuff I've already done.

Hello Brian,

Unfortunately, Google has set up their Calendar so that is refreshes the view of all iCal feeds only once a day. That said - you will see the changes after about 24 hours. We're looking into alternatives, hoping to find a way to force a refresh from our end, but for now we can hope that Google changes this one day.

Note - our feed itself is updated live and you would see the changes instantly when using it with any other calendar software than Google's Calendar.

Best regards,
David

Ah, good to know. It's not like I can't use Outlook or something from my work account. Thanks David!
