Make an email message a task

Hi,

I frequently work in Chrome and use the Chrome app for Todoist. I no longer see a link anywhere in gmail to email a task to Todoist or from todoist to add an email to a task.

I have searched the support articles and every link on which I click (like the blog article on Todoist and inbox zero) results in a 404 not found error.

I paid for premium use and would like to be able to use this feature again.

Thanks,
Amy

Hello Amy,

Please tell me, have you followed the instructions as described in this post: http://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/ ?

There are two ways to add an email as a task:

1. Link to it, for that you need our Chrome plugin: http://todoist.com/chrome If you're reading a message in GMail and then open the plugin and click on either the "Quick Add" icon in the top-right corner or enter a project, you'll see the "Add email as task" link (if you're not using the "Preview pane" in GMail).

2. Sending mails to Todoist, for that, simply right-click on a project and choose "Email tasks to this project" for detailed instructions.

Best regards,
David

David,

The link you gave me produces a "Not Found" error and says "The requested URL (gives address) was not found on the server."
By the way, many of the links in the Support articles are broken.

I have installed the Google Chrome extension. Your directions have helped me see that I can only use the "add email as task" within the browser, not if I have the extension opened as a separate window. (Which I do much of the day.)

I would like to read the inbox zero article. Please advise when the broken link is fixed.

Thanks,
Amy

Incidentally, I was able to open the article in Internet Explorer but not any other browser. There is a hint and screen shot in the article that shows that "Within any project at the bottom of your task list" is the link "Add email as task". I do NOT see this in Chrome. I have turned OFF the Gmail preview pane lab. Why don't I see that link within any project?

If there is a way to upload a screen shot, I'm happy to show you what I see.

Amy,

We've tested the blog in multiple browsers and the links are correct in all of them. Please tell me - are you using the latest stable version of Chrome? You can find the version number by going to Chrome's Settings and then the "Help" tab on the left. The version you should have is 26.0.1410.64 m.

Also, please try to disable all plugins/extensions in Chrome and then try to access the blog or the "Add email as task" function again.

Regarding the "Add email as task link", it is only visible through the extension when a message is opened (and the Preview Pane not used) and when you're within a project. Please click on "Show projects" at the top, enter a project and then scroll down to your task list to see the link.
