Tasks date unsync on different devices

J

Hi, guys!

First of all thank you for your great app! It's most simple and all-I-need application for todo-lists.

But some time ago I found a bug of such kind:
1) I organize tasks in Firefox using TODOist FF plugin, set some for today, some tomorrow and so on
2) then I launch TODOist application on my Android device (Samsung Spica, Asus Transformer) and see that today tasks are shifted for tomorrow, and tasks I set earlier for tomorrow are shifted to day after tomorrow

All timezone settings are the same on devices and application (GMT +07:00)

Is this known issue? Please tell me when you going to fix it? Or maybe I do something wrong? Then it's usability issue probably because I don't know what is wrong and how I can fix it.

Please help!

Hello,

Please tell me:
- Are you sure that the time zones are all correct? Even if the time is correct on your computer, you may have an incorrect time zone setting.
- What version of the Android app are you using and what version of Android do you have?
- Did you travel between timezones lately?

Also, please try to add a test task due "tomorrow at 16:30" on both - Android and the web (using our plugin) and see if there are any differences in date or time in both these tasks on both platforms.

Best regards,
David

I've got exactly the same problem. My Mac Todoist app works fine and is in sync with my Web/Cloud Todoist. But my Android app is out by one day which is really annoying. I have just moved timezones from the UK to France, so only one hour. My Mac and Google Nexus 4 are both set to local (French) time and are showing the same time.

AHA!!!! I've just changed my Todoist settings also to French time (GMT+2) and my Android app is now in sync! I'll just have to remember to do the same when I get home again.

I used to be European Sales Manager for a semiconductor company and travel all around Europe, if I was still doing that job this would be a total pain. There must be some way of automating this? My Nexus 4 phone knows where I am and what time it's set to, is there now way that it can tell this to Todoist via the app?

Other than that... great product!

Hello Mark,

Traveling between timezones does indeed require adjusting the time zone in Todoist's setting otherwise your tasks will appear as scheduled for a different day (regardless of the actual time difference).

To make it easy to adjust the time zone, Todoist automatically recognizes your location, compares it to your settings and if it's different - asks you if you want to adjust your time zone at the top of the screen in the web-app. Simply choose "YES" and you're done.

We will consider adding a similar feature to the mobile apps soon.

Best regards,
David

Hello,

We will soon release a brand new iOS app which should solve this issue, but for now, please try to manually set the time zone on your iPhone and see if it helps. Also, try to set an incorrect zone, such as GTM+2 and see if the incorrect time will also be shitted by 2 hours now.

Best regards,
David
