I paid for a premium account but I'm not getting premium service

CM

Adding a note just gives me an ad telling me I need a premium account and yet the top of the screen shows I have a premium account. I logged out and logged back in and still no premium behavior - next steps?

Hi Chris,

Please clarify with me

-Which browser are you using?

I would suggest clearing the cache for Todoist. In Chrome you click on the menu button at the top right, click Settings.

On the new page, click "show advanced settings.." at the bottom of that page. Click on "Content Settings" and then "All Cookies & Site Data". Search for Todoist, and clear all.

Thanks,
Brendon.

I use Chrome (Mac) - I finally got features in the browser, but the Mac app seems stuck in freebie mode. I can live without the app but it would be nice to have.

Hi,

Please try un-installing, and re-installing the mac application. I know this is an inconvenience, but it may fix your problem.

Thanks,
Brendon.

OK, I uninstalled and reinstalled and logged out and logged in, including a full trash empty and computer re-boot, and the app still doesn't recognize the premium account.

I login using my Google account and on the web, it asks which one (i have two) - the app doesn't ask which one so I'm not sure if that could make a difference?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

That could very well be the issue. If you log out, when you log back into it what happens exactly? It does not ask to input any information?

Thanks,
Brendon.

I logout and get the login screen which has the Google login at the top and the email/password textfields below.

I select the Google login button and it goes directly to the first project.

It only shows 2 projects and I have 4. Seems it's hung up on the point where I decided to "go premium".

Hi,

If you could try logging in with your email/password combination instead of using the Google button.

The Web version when clicking the Google button gives two options, but the mac app does not correct?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Correct - the app doesn't give me any options after selecting the login with google account button.

Oddly, the email address/password combo don't work - it tells me they are invalid.

I can only get into the app with the google button

Hi,

Logging in with the email/password combination was likely to not work, but I thought I would get you to try it. Since your account is done through Google Authentication, there is actually no password attached to it.

I have let the developers know about this issue with the mac version.

What you can do though, is log in through the web version, hit the "settings" button at the top right, and on the popup window, hit "account". From there you can edit your email/password combination. Once done, you should be able to sign in with that combination through the mac app.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello Chris,

As Brendon said, you can set a Todoist password in Settings -> Account and use it to log in manually, but the issue you're experiencing is most likely caused by the fact that when you use the Google Login button in the Mac app, you're already logged into Google.

Since the Mac app uses Safari to connect, please open your safari browser, try to go to GMail and log out of Google. Then, when you try to log into Todoist, you will not be automatically logged into GMail.

Best regards,
David

That worked to get me into the app - thanks so much for taking time to work me through this.
