Hi Thomas,

Could you provide me with some information.

-Did you install the app from this location:
http://todoist.com/windows?
-When does this error occur? Before the application even starts, or once it's been opened?
-Do you have the Microsoft .NET 4 Framework installed? If not, please download it from this location: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992
-Have you recently installed an update to the application? If so, which version was updated?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi,

At the current moment we don't have a native Windows 8 application.

Please try running the application as administrator. Right click the icon, run as administrator.

Do you have the Windows Firewall enabled? If you could try adding our app to the exceptions list, or even disabling the firewall completely. (Start Menu, Control Panel, Windows Firewall)

If that fails, try clicking on the TD icon in the notification area (system tray) and logging out.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Support,

I experiende the same problem / error message on a Windows 7 Professional x64, where the todoist process is running as a 32 bit application.

I tried both the Microsoft .NET 4 Framework link provided above, and I also downloaded and installed the Windows EXE installation file.

Windows Firewall is not enabled, and I disabled both Antivirus and Firewall protection, as well as running Todoist as administrator... but still the same error:

400 Bad Request
Unknown error happened: function arguments invalid. (2 missing, 0 additional)

Maybe Windows 8 is not working, but I guess your application should work fine on a Windows 7 OS, as it has been on the market for a long time now.

Can you advise any solution for Windows 7 on this same error please?

Thanks,
Mr. Tee

Hi again Support,

In addition to my entry above, then I get this error only when I want to start the Todoist application by double clicking on the desktop icon. The installation works fine, so only when I want to use the program.

Thanks,
Mr. Tee

Hi There,

Please try uninstalling your current version, clearing the cache for IE, reboot, and install this updated unreleased version. https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/5023a6d6c92501bdfb0e00969703a767/as/Todoist_for_Windows.exe

Unfortunately this is a known issue that we are working on but have not had any luck so far. We will keep you updated.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

Thanks for your update.

Unfortunately the installation of your provided link for an updated unreleased version resulted in exactly the same error message.

I noticed that the file name and file size from your provided link does match 100% the file which is officially published on your website. They look to be completely identical files.

Could it be that you by mistake provided the wrong file to me?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Mr. Tee

Hi,

They would be the same file size and name as that has not changed at this time. Unfortunately it's quite possible it would not have helped. We are working on some new updates that should resolve many of these issues.

I will keep you updated.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

Okay, thanks a lot for your help and information - then I will just need to wait for the update.

When do you expect that to be released, days, months, year or?

Thanks,
Mr. Tee

Hello,

If everything goes right, we should have an updated version of the Windows app within a couple of weeks. A month would be a safe estimate.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I just tried downloading the Windows client again, but it is exactly the same problem, so a couple of weeks or safe estimate of a month seems not to be fulfilled, when do you expect a solution for this problem please?

Thanks,
Mr. Tee

Hello,

We're very sorry for the delays, it takes indeed longer than we've expected. Unfortunately, we can't give you any specific release date, we're working on this right now and hope to have it done soon.

Best regards,
David
