Can't make it work.

The side bar doesn't close when the x is clicked, which I mostly would endure, as computer screens are getting progressively long and narrow, but I can't even scroll over to the left side of the page it's covering. I just uninstalled the desktop part. Didn't help. At the moment I have a permanently covered screen on the left side that I can't seem to do anything to get rid of.

In addition, the introductory video is so perfunctory that I immediately made a mistake in arranging the hierarchy of my projects and could find absolutely no way to go back, delete, whatever. (This is turning into more of a review, isn't it? Maybe I need to relocate it.) Anyway, frustrating and disappointing all-in-all, and I was really excited about it, too. Oh well. (I hope it doesn't turn out to be oh well.)

Oh. I just upgraded my Firefox to whatever the latest edition is--20.0.1 I think. I have a boatload of anti-everything stuff that mostly seems to peacefully coexist. I'm running Windows 7.

Can I get any help here? I really need something like this program and getting damned tired of looking.

Hello Dru,

Please confirm - are you referring to our Todoist for Firefox plugin?

If so, please make sure that Firefox accepts cookies and third-party cookies and try to disable all your plugins and see if it helps. If it does, try to re-enable each of them to see which one was causing this issue.

Also, to clarify what issues you're experiencing exactly, please tell me:
- Do you see the TD icon in your browser and can you close/reopen the plugin pane with this icon?
- How did you incorrectly rearrange your projects? Did you reorder then, indented them incorrectly?

It would be very helpful if you could send a screenshot showing this issue to david@doist.io

That ^^ may be part of your problem. You are not supposed to run more than one anti-virus at a time. They don't play well together at all and can cause all kinds of problems.
As far as not being able to do stuff--Todoist has minimalistic UI by design, so many functions are not readily apparent at a glance. This https://todoist.com/app?v=101#info_page takes less than 10 minutes to get through and tells you all you need to know.

Thanks guys. Alex, I'm not such a total moron that I run more than one virus program at a time, but they all seem to catch different thing. Knew you were going to say that though. I have Malwarebytes Pro, Spybot & Sophos. Do you think that is really causing me a problem?

Too clarify, yes, I am running absolutely up to the minute Firefox. Auto-updating, which is happening enough to worry me. (Multiple time a day, sometimes) I normally run the BETA and participate in the studies & such but have been sick. Think I'm going to download it now though and see if it fixes anything much. They're saying that it does.

Todist, despite the fact that I uninstalled it, still seems to be hanging around. I will read your help page if I haven't already (seems likely) and hope it helps, because when I slowed down your video & actually compared the app there were things on your screen that definitely weren't on my program screen, so it may be that you've already made enough changes that it does more harm than good.

But I'm having a lot of problems with Firefox itself, anyway. I think maybe Firefox is having a lot of problems. Fear and loathing of the competition, but I've got to say Chrome is looking awfully slick. And what is up with the Firefox apps in general??? Unless it's just me (Screenshot coming)

What IS it with all those horrid screenshot pages of the major sites in Fast Dial? Nasty (speaking as a designer) Sure can't compete with all those slick big pretty logos in Chrome. Sure hope Mozilla can pull it together in time.

And since I've been doing this since the early eighties and with a daughter at MIT I've been on first-name bases with almost all these companies (well, not Microsssoft of course) when they were just two guys and a telephone. And I know poor Steve Jobs has got to be SPINNING in his grave. Friendly none of them any longer of course. They ALL eventually get big and unfriendly if they don't get bought just to be put out of business. (Rant, rant...stop Dru)

Anyway, David, will send you lots of screen-shots. And it DOES turn off & on from the logo. And I have now somehow managed (tinker, tinker) to get the x to turn it off too.

It better be worth it, ie. a great program and not just one of the dozens I've wasted time on (ref bought-up & put-out-of-business great programs) or I going to have to hunt both of you and shoot you down like dogs.

I'm happy to hear that it works for you now. If you experience this issue again, please try to disable all plugins and make sure you're using the latest stable release of Firefox (20.0.1) and let us know if this issue occurs under these circumstances.

Dru, if you only run one real time protection, it should not be a problem, i.e. you use Sophos as your "always on" AV, and use Malwarebytes for on demand disk scanning only.
As far as Todoist being worth it, I think it all depends on how you structure your workflow and what features carry the most weight for you. I tried about 10 different ones, including buying a subscription to one other, but kept coming back to TD. No task manager is perfect, but TD's features allow me to spend the least time organizing and the most time working.
