My notifications don't work.

JB

I tried test notifications. I tried adding reminders to tasks. I tried everything and no notifications or reminders were ever sent. I'd appreciate a quick resolution!

Hello Jonathan,

If you're referring to mobile push notifications, please make sure that you've accessed one of the two official Todoist apps - for Android or for the iPhone, have logged int your Todoist account through them and performed a sync. Then, see if on the web, in the Settings -> Reminders, you see your mobile device on the list. If you so and still can't receive reminders, please try to add a task through the mobile app and sync.

If you're referring to SMS reminders, please make sure you've typed your phone number in the following format: +48123456789, that is - with a plus at the front, your country code and your phone number with no spaces or dashes. Then, select "International" as your provider and select one of the Canadian numbers as the "Number to send from" and repeat the test.

Best regards,
David

Thanks for the prompt reply, David! Much appreciated. Unfortunately, my issue is still not resolved. My official Android app is syncing correctly, but isn't receiving the push notifications. Also I did as instructed with the SMS reminders, but those still aren't working either.

Jonathan,

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue. Please clarify - do you see your phone listed in the web-app's Settings -> Reminders?

If you don't try to log out from the Android app, go to Settings -> Apps, clear Todoist's cache, uninstall it, then reinstall from the PlayStore, log in and check if it appears on the web-app in the reminder settings (after reloading the page).

Also, have you tried adding an absolute reminder to a task set to "push notification" to a date and time in near future?

As for SMS reminders, if neither of the three outgoing hosts work, please send your full phone number to david@doist.io we'll send 2 tests through our system and if you wont receive any of them, we'll contact our SMS provider.

Best regards,
David

I upgraded to premium but have noticed no difference.

I have no way of controlling notifications nor have any of my test notifications worked thus far on iPad, iPhone or Mac.

I see no options in settings anywhere.

Hello Manny,

Please log out and back into your Todoist account on all platforms so that the Premium version will load when you log in.

As for reminders - the iOS app is the only platform without a separate reminder UI (we'll add it in the future, though) so through the iOS app, you can only set reminder by typing <remind tod at 2pm> within the task's name or use the default "30 minutes before" reminders added to any task that has a due time automatically if you choose the default reminder method from the Settings -> Reminders on the web-app.

In the Reminder settings on the reminder settings on the web, you should see your devices listed there. If you don't - log out and back in and if this won't help, try to delete and reinstall the iOS app.

Best regards,
David
