Outlook plugin constantly resetting view to today view

SK

I really like the outlook plugin, but it constantly changes the view from the current project I have selected to the today view which I don't really use.

It looks like this occurs every time it refreshes the task list. Is there a way to prevent this?

Hello Scott,

We will soon release an updated version of our Outlook plugin which will feature many bug fixes. We have a pre-release build which you can download and install from: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/18dd6b9fb4508bfdd09fc8fb17464c91/as/OutlookTodoist.RC.zip

Please let us know if it solves this issue and if not, please clarify - what are the exact steps to reproduce this issue? Do you click on "Show project", choose a project and in this moment you get redirected back to the "today" list?

Best regards,
David

Great, thanks. I haven't noticed the issue yet with the new client. Did you happen to have a list of the fixes/features with this new version.

Scott,

We don't have a detailed list of the fixes in this build (there will be another update soon), but most bugs should be fixed there already. If you experience any issues with it, please let us know.

Best regards
David

The refreshing piece has seemed to be resolved. However, I am constantly misclicking on the wrong tasks now. The task list in outlook seems to jump all over the place when I try to click on things.

Hello Scott,

If clearing Internet Explorer's cache won't solve this issue, please send a screenshot showing it to david@doist.io as we can't reproduce it.

Best regards,
David

I cleared Internet Explorer's cache. It noticed the problem happens all the time when I am scrolled down towards the bottom of my tasklist. A screenshot wouldn't do justice so I recorded this quick video clip:

I had to stop using the RC because it was jumping around so much, I was deleting/completing the wrong tasks and not realizing it. Have there been any more updates to the RC I can test?

Thanks. I downloaded the latest and it seems like it may have fixed the jumping around when clicking on the tasks, but not when expanding/collapsing . See the video I uploaded here http://youtu.be/DTBUuBYYiT0

Also, I was doing some more testing and checking off tasks is also jumping around so I'm consistently closing out the wrong ones.

I forgot to mention too that during my recording all of my tasks mysteriously vanished. I'm not sure if you can find why out why that happened as well.

Scott,

Thank you very much for the video, we've been able to partially reproduce this issue and we'll try to fix it in the next update. Unfortunately, we're unsure why your tasks have disappeared at some point, but we'll also look into this (note - none of the tasks was lost, it must have been a visual glitch). If you experience the issue (vanishing tasks) again, please try to use the reload button at the bottom and let us know if it helps.

Best regards,
David

Was there by change any updates since last month? For now I have had to revert to breaking up my task lists into more groups because I am still having lots of issues clicking on things when there is a scroll bar. I would be glad to continue testing out the latest beta/release candidate.

Thanks. I just installed it. One thing I noticed right away is that I'm having issues dragging tasks around. The tasks are create yellow boxes like it's going to go in that location but they never go away. See this screenshot:

It does appear the jumping around doesn't happen anymore, but unfortunately the dragging and the yellow boxes that don't go away make this harder to use than the previous version as long as I keep my lists short.

One other thing I noticed after playing around with this version for a bit is now I'm getting a lot of blank tasks which didn't happen before.

-click add task
-type task name and press enter so another new task entry box will be active
-click on another task
-an empty task will be saved

So far this client seems much better than the last. I can work in lists that have a scroll bar much better. It looks like the problem with the yellow boxes in my last screenshot I posted is still there though.

They sure do. It's not quite as bad though compared to outlook because the yellow boxes don't cause the dragged item to constantly jump around.

Here is a screenshot after trying to move a few tasks:
