How add task within a task

RH

Hi, I just signed up and am considering upgrade version if it fits my needs. How do I add a task within a task? In other words, if my project is "Business" and I want one of the tasks to be "marketing", how do I then add in 5 separate tasks under "marketing"? In other words, I want subtasks to indent under tasks. THanks

Hello Ruth,

In order to add a sub-task, you can click on "Add task" within a project and when the task input box opens, you'll see two small arrows on the right side of it - one can be used to indent a task (to make it a sub-task) and the other one to un-indent it.

In Todoist, you can create sub-tasks on up to 4 indent levels and even sub-project on 3 indent levels (right-click on a project, choose "Edit" and you'll also see the arrows in the input box).

Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+RightArrow and Ctrl+LeftArrow to indent/unindent a task or a project or, if you want to indent an already added task and don't want to open the input box, you can hover over it and once the drag & drop handle appears on the left side of the task, you can "grab" it by the handle and while holding it, use the number keys 1, 2, 3 or 4 to select an indent level of this task.

Best regards,
David
