How to open Links from Todoist in default browser ?

ME

Google Chrome is my default browser, but all links (only from within the Todoist Outlook Plugin) are opened in Internet Explorer. Any hints ?

Hello Markus,

Please clarify - are you referring to:
- Links to Gmail messages?
- Links to website created with the Chrome plugin?
- Links to websites created in a different way (please specify)?
- Other links (mailto links etc.)?

We've just tried to reproduce it on a system where Chrome is not the default browser and yet even there every link has been opened in a new tab in Chrome (same applies to every other browser).

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

the problem occurs, when I attached a file to a task. When I click on this later Todoist opens Internet Explorer instead of default browser (Chrome).

It does not depend on where I attached the file to a task. Problem only occurs in outlook plugin. When I use the Todoist Client for windows, it opens the attachment (link) in default browser (chrome).

Best regards,
Markus

Hello Markus,

Thank you for clarifying that this issue occurs in Outlook. This is an expected behavior because our Outlook plugin always uses IE to connect to Todoist (the plugin is an IE frame) and it's not possible to choose what other browser will be used.

We will try to address this issue in future updates of this plugin, if possible.

Best regards,
David

When I open links in Outlook messages, they open in my default browser (not IE). I would very much like the Todoist Outlook plugin to do the same. Thanks.

Hello Frank,

We will look into this in the new rewrite of our plugin which we're working on right now.

Best regards,
David
