Extra Task

Since today, the Chrome extension is showing an extra task on top of what I have. Say I have 18, it will show 19, if I check one off making it 17, it will show 18.

I click on the button to open it up, changes to the correct amount. Then after a few minutes it goes back to being wrong.

I had a similar problem before, and was fixed.

Hello Brendon,

Please tell me:
- Do you have the same time zone selected in Todoist's settings as on your computer and haven't traveled between time zones lately?
- Do you have one task overdue or one task due tomorrow?

Does logging out of the extension, going to Chrome's Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data, removing "todoist.com" from this list, reloading the browser and logging back in fix this issue permanently or temporarily?

Best regards,
David

You have asked me all that before, timezone is fine and no overdue stuff.

Yes doing the suggested thing works. But this shouldn't keep happening.

I fix the problem, to only get a new one later on.

Brendon,

Of course you shouldn't have to do this and we'll look into this issue and fix it permanently. Please tell me - can you remember what was the last action you took before this started happening? Was there anything you did which you're not doing usually that might have triggered it? For example - using a mobile app, working offline and syncing changes later.

Best regards,
David

I use the mobile and chrome extension all the time.

The only thing that might have been different, but I think I have already done it before, was adding a non-repeating task to my list.

Brendon,

I've passed this issue to the developers and we'll inform you once it's fixed. In the meantime, if it occurs again and you'll do something unusual on your task list, please let us know. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Brendon,

Could you please also answer my first question reg. if you have 1 task overdue or due tomorrow? If may help us confirm if this is the same issue as we suspect.

Best regards,
David

I did answer both, timezones are fine, no overdue.

I have all kinds due each day.

Brendon,

Thank you for clarifying, but do you have 1 extra task due tomorrow?

David

Not sure what you mean, but no I don't think so. Just my normal tasks for tomorrow.

Brendon,

The issue we were experiencing in the past made the Chrome extension add tasks to the total count from other days either overdue or due tomorrow due to some incorrect time zone calculations (on our end) in which case if you would have exactly 1 task due tomorrow, this would suggest that the same issue occurred. Thank you for clarifying that this seems to not be the case this time. We'll try to identify this issue and fix it soon.

Best regards,
David
