Problems with dates/days

U

I am noticing in many of my tasks that are set to weekly recurrences that the day and date are not matching. For example, I have many tasks that say 'every Friday' but the due date shows sat or sun. Even when I change it to reset it. Is shows on both my mobile devices (iPad and iPhone) as well as chrome extension on laptop. I've noticed this over past 4-5 weeks and not sure, cause or fix.

I can send screen shots if necessary.

Hello Randy,

Please tell me:
- Are you using the same correct time zone in your Todoist Settings as on any other device you've used Todoist on and haven't traveled between time zones lately?
- Did you use the "Do it today" option on any of your tasks?

Best regards,
David

David, I am having the same problem, not an issue with timezones or 'Do it Today', I don't change timezones and have have never used the do it today feature.

I did recently change my calendar view to start with Sun instead of Mon...not sure if this is causing the issue?

As it currently is working though, this problem makes the tool very difficult to manage....

Hello Matthew,

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce it so far. Please tell me - in what language are you using Todoist? Can you reproduce this issue in a different browser or by setting up a new task due "ev mon" (for example)? Will such task become due "ev Tue" right away or after checking it off?

Best regards,
David

David, I am using English. The issue is that the task will read "every Thur" (for instance), but be scheduled on 2/22 (which is a Friday). If I go back in and update to "every Thursday" (some slight variation of acceptable formats seems to be needed to get it to "re-save"), it will fix it to show for 2/21. However, when I check back later, it may or may not be wrong again.

I can't reproduce deliberately...I have a number of recurring tasks and some seem to work fine and others not. Also, once I fix it, it may stay OK for a while, or may recreate the error almost immediately. From my perspective, it seems random.

So far, I have only tried used Chrome, but will try another browser. Will also try with a new task, but if I have to delete and re-enter everything that is not a very viable option...

David, I do have the problem in Firefox as well. I also noticed that it is doing the same thing to some non-recurring task as well (e.g. I had a one-time task I scheduled this morning for Monday, and when I just checked, it was showing on Tuesday).

David, also had the same problem with a newly added test task that I entered. The screen actually refreshed and changed the 'Every Mon' task that was due next week from due on 'Monday' to due on 'Tuesday' while I was looking at the screen. When I click on the date box, it still shows 'Every Mon'.

...and I tried turning the calendar back to starting with Mon instead of Sun and still have the problem.

Matthew,

I can't reproduce this issue in any browser with any date. Please tell me - do you have the correct time zone selected both in your Todoist's Settings as well as on any device you've used Todoist with and haven't traveled between timezones (and using Todoist) lately?

If you did change timezones, please let me know and we'll fix this issue for you as we're aware of a certain problem that may cause this and it's related to date/time changes.

Best regards,
David

David, I have Todoist set to ET and have not changed it (this is my correct home timezone). I have been in PT this week...are you saying that I need to maintain the timezone when I travel?

I go back and forth between timezones quite a bit and have never had an issue prior to the past few weeks...

Matthew,

We're looking into implementing a permanent fix that won't require modifying the time zone in Todoist's Settings each time you travel.

For now, we'll check if the timestamps of your tasks can be corrected on our end.

Best regards,
David

Matthew,

All your tasks should now have the correct properties (fixed due dates). We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David
