How do I turn off a reminder for a task?
It looks like once a task has a reminder it's not possible to switch it off.
Try this: set due date to "15 Feb @ 1pm". You get the clock reminder icon. All good. Now change the due date to "15 Feb" and the clock reminder icon stays there.
As a result of one of these I received an SMS at 23:30 last night.
Bug? And is there a workaround?
Thank you for your report, I've been able to reproduce this issue, I'll pass it to the developers and we will address it in future updates.
For now, you can delete any reminder manually. To do so, simply right-click on the task, choose "Reminders" and use the "X" icon at the bottom to remove the set reminder.
You can also completely switch off default reminders in the Settings -> Reminder section. This way when you set a due time for a task, no reminders will be created, but you'll still be able to add them manually either through the right-click menu or by typing <remind tod at 2pm> within the task name.

This issue has now been fixed. If you change the due date of a task that has the default "30 minutes before" reminder set to it, the reminder will be removed.
Fast work... but not bug-free.
1. I took an item that had a date assigned but no reminder and I added a time to it.
2. The time showed up in bold at the start of the line but the reminder clock icon wasn't there. I checked the Reminders and it says there is a reminder.
3. I removed the time (and kept the date) and the time disappeared from the start of the line. But now the reminder clock is showing. I checked the Reminders and it says there is no reminder.
This is only a visual glitch and won't affect the reminder settings, but thank you for your report, we will address this issue in future updates as well.
