Tasks disappearing after 2 days overdue

LM

Hello,

None of my overdue tasks that are more than 2 days past due seem to show up in my home page (7 days, overdue), so I have to go back into my project lists to find them and give them a more recent due date. Is there any way to keep them from disappearing?

Thanks.

Liz

Hello Liz,

Please tell me - how long overdue are these tasks exactly? Please note that tasks which are overdue by more than 6 days are listed at the very bottom, below your today's tasks.

Please try to set a task with a due date "1 Jan 2010", then type "overdue" within the search box and let me know if you can see it.

Best regards,
David

It appears to be bumping all tasks past 2 days overdue to their same due date in 2014. I had already changed them all to today so that I won't forget about them, so now I can't give them a do date in the past to double check for you.

Liz,

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue. Tasks overdue even by hundreds of days seem to be moved to the correct day upon completion.

You can set a due date in the past to any task if you include the year within the date. For example, you can type "1 Jan 2010" - you can set a task due in 2010. In case of recurring tasks you can type "every day starting 1 Feb 2008" within the due date field.

Also, could you please tell me what exact due date formula did these tasks have. This issue could be caused by certain incorrect dates.

Best regards,
David

David,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. It worked for me to go back through and find all my overdue tasks and type in the date I want them listed as. However, I am now noticing again that some past due dates are disappearing - or rather, not disappearing so much as being pushed to the same date in 2014. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks.

Hello Liz,

We still can't reproduce this. Please tell me - how exactly does this issue occur? You set a task due "today" (for example), wait 2 days and then it disappears automatically from your list on the third day?

Or does this happen when you try to set a due date using the calendar and choose a date in the past? If that's the case then please note that it's not possible to select a past date using the mini calendar. For example - if you pick 16 Feb today, the date will be added as "16 Feb" which will set it to "16 Feb 2014". In order to set a date to the past, you must include the past year and manually type "16 Feb 2013" within the due date field.

Please let me know what exact steps must be taken to recreate this issue as so far, any of our test tasks that became overdue in the last days hasn't disappeared yet.

Best regards,
David

David,

It happens when I set a task's due date for today, for example, and then wait 2 days and it disappears - or rather, gets shifted to next year.

Liz,

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue. Are you certain that nothing happens with these tasks? For example - you never drag & drop them anywhere, never edit them through a mobile app, never postpone them or edit their date?

David

David,

I may have postponed them at some point in time, but I have always kept them right around today's due date, unless I let them go overdue, which is when they disappear.

Liz,

We've set up multiple test tasks in the past days, we also have tasks overdue by hundreds of days and they're still listed.

We would appreciate if you could set up one more task just for testing and don't modify or move or postpone it in any way at all and see if it disappears after two days, but please type in "today" within the due date field manually and don't choose the date from the mini-calendar (to exclude it as a potential cause for this issue).

Best regards,
David

David,

I have set up the test task. I will let you know in a couple of days what happens.

I am having this exact same issue. Did you ever figure our what was causing this? An incomplete task with a due date that is before yesterday is moved to 2015. For example, my tasks due on Nov 10, 2014 are now due Nov 10, 2015. None of my views show any tasks before yesterday - although there are several more than one day past due. I can't even get them to show when I create an "overdue" filter. Only yesterday's tasks show up.

Stacy,

To be clear, you did not postpone this task or anything like that, just let it go overdue?

Stacy,

Please let me know which platforms you are using when this occurs. We still can't seem to get this to happen no matter what.

Hi Stacy,

How often does this happen to your overdue tasks? Can you maybe do a test for us? Try leaving tasks overdue for the next few days and see how many of them are moved to 2015 just on there own.

Please note that entering a due date prior to today will set it to the next year. For example, today is Nov. 13. If I set a due date on a task, say Nov 12, it will assume that you mean Nov 12, 2015.

Regards,
Clyde
