I need a token for the desktop application. I have logged into my todoist account and I don't see preferences. Please tell or send me a screen shot of exactly where this is. Thanks,
Please go to http://todoist.com log in and you will see a gear icon in the top-right corner. Click on it and choose "Settings", then "Account" and you'll find an API token at the bottom of this page.

When I installed the desktop application, there was a mistake and a misspelling in the box telling me to get the token.
It tried to tell me to go to preferences - and there is no preferences. Plus preferences was misspelled.
Please correct this problem so others aren't mislead and frustrated.
I REALLY like your product. I've looked a several task managers lately and yours has met my immediate needs. I see a lot of potential and look forward to future enhancements.
Please clarify - are you referring to your own Todoist-based app? None of our apps requires the use of the API token and should never ask you for it.
If our Windows app did so, could you please uninstall it and send us a screenshot of this message after reinstalling it? You can send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
Woops! This doesn't sound like good news. I downloaded what I thought was your Windows Desktop Application that would stay in sync with my web-based ToDoist account.
I uninstalled it and tried to re-install it, but the second time it didn't ask me for the token, so couldn't grab a screen shot. It remembered the token from the first installation. It reconnected to my to do list automatically.
I will email you a screen shot of what I saw when I uninstalled it. It will come from the email address associated with my account. It shows the publisher was Practisoft.
What you've downloaded is not our application. The publisher of our app is "Ist Productivity Ltd." and we never ask for an API token.
For security reasons, please log into your account at http://todoist.com go to the Settings -> Accounts and click on "Issue a new API token" so the old token that you've used with this app will be invalidated. We also recommend to change your Todoist password as soon as possible (you can do so in the Account settings).
