Sync not working automatically

MH

Hi,

Have paid for premium version to get auto sync amongst other features, and... it doesn't work properly.

On two or three occasions I have noticed that there are todo items still listed as incomplete when they have been completed.

This has happened in Firefox, Web App, and Android.

What gives? Doesn't your server send a push update on changes?

Additionally I set a reminder on a task which is supposed to send a notification to the Android app - this didn't materialise.

Thanks
Matthew

Hello Matthew,

Yes, our system is sending push updates for Premium accounts. Please make sure that you've logged out and back in through your Android app or cleared its cache as it's possible that the app still hasn't recognized the upgrade.

Only syncing on web-based versions aren't automatic which means if you're using both the web-app and the Firefox plugin, you'll need to refresh the view when you make changes.

Reg. reminders, please go to the web-app's Settings -> Reminders and tell me:
- If your mobile device listed there (it should appear after logging out and back in and performing one sync)?
- What's the default reminder method you've selected there?
- What's the exact due date/time or reminder content you've set for a task?

Best regards,
David

Hello,

I tried clearing the data on the app after logging out, but there is still no reminder coming through.

The device is listed properly in the setting panel on the web app. The default reminder method is the mobile.

I've set various times for those reminders, none have worked. Both inside and outside of business hours if that makes a difference.

Matthew,

Please tell me - is the default reminder method mobile SMS or mobile push notifications?

Please try to type the following:

Reminder test <remind today at 20:00>

through your mobile device as a task name. Note - the <remind> tag must be part of the task name, not due date, you don't have to set any due date for this task and try to set the time at least 2-3 minutes into the future and let me know if you receive the push notification while your phone is in sleep mode and the Todoist application has been opened once.

Best regards,
David

Yeah that came up. Said it was 15740 days over due though?

Default reminder is mobile push

Matthew,

Thank you for this information, I was able to reproduce this issue and I've passed it to the developers.

Reg. the general reminder issue - please note that if you don't add <remind...> within a task name, but only add a due time to a task so that the default "30 minutes before" reminder will be added, if this task is recurring and you complete it before the reminder should arrive, it will not be sent, but postponed for the next occurrence.

Best regards,
David
