Can we use todoist offline?

I love using todoist. I think it's the best system out there, but I'd like to know if you can use todoist without internet access.

For example, if I get on a plane or go to another country (or somewhere else without internet access or phone service), the I've found the todoist platform will not pull up the previous tasks that I had up a short while before when I DID have internet access.

I like how the "gmail offline" application loads your inbox and allows users to respond to email when you don't have internet access.

Is there a way to use todoist offline, similar to how gmail offline works?

Hello Cy,

If you're using Todoist on the web, you can access it offline on Chrome through this URL: http://todoist.com/app?v=84

If you're using one of our mobile apps - for Android http://todoist.com/android or the iPhone http://todoist.com/iphone they both can be used without an internet connection, but please make sure that you're always logged in otherwise you'll need to be online to authorize the login.

Hello,

As on all platforms, if you lose your internet connection while using Todoist, you can continue to use it offline, it will automatically switch to offline mode.

As i understand if i used offline mode (mobile app) and added some tasks. now i'm connected to internet it's synchronized, isn't it?

Hello Denis,

That's correct for Premium accounts. The Premium version will try to sync when you're online automatically, on the free version, you have to access the app and use the sync button, but this will of course sync all changes with your account.

No, unfortunately there is no full offline mode, or option to go into it, only once you lose connection.

It would be a really useful feature to be able to look at the last synched todoist when starting the app without internet access.

I'm probably almost unique in that I only really use MacOS todoist, occasionally popping online via the web.

I'd love to be able to use todoist on the train on my laptop when I'm working without using the wifi.

I don't understand it. I'm a premium user, today I worked ONline, on the desktop app, made a task, closed the lid of my macbook pro, went to my office, opened my laptop, and the task was gone? It also was'nt on my ipad, iphone, and not on the web. What went wrong?

To expound above: I'm very satisfied about Todoist. This is the first time I met a problem! It only was a very extensive note, and I can't remember it entirely :-(

Your settings didn't shut down the app? Are you on the latest version from http://todoist.com/mac? This should not happen anymore.

On 4.1(147).
No, todoist was still open when I opened my MacBook, only the task was gone.
Strange... Could it be I didn't save it? However, it still should be there then I assume...
Tried to reproduce: made a new task, and closed lid during editing, without saving. After opening the MBP and logging in again the task was still there, in editing mode.
