Why does task description go grey after editing?

MB

I'm in "today, overdue" mode. When I edit the description of a task assigned for today, I get a yellow "Moved to today" label, (which makes no sense since it was already scheduled for today), and the description text changes from black to grey. Why?

It needs a page reload to change the text back to black.

Hello Martin,

Please tell me - what exact due date formula do these tasks have? When you edit a task while on the today view and save the changes, it's due date will be saved again which may indeed cause the task to gray out.

Best regards,
David

The due date is set to today's date.

I am editing the task NAME, not the due date.

Martin,

So the exact content of the due date field when you open this task is 22 Jan 2013?

Even if you edit the task name, the task as a whole object is being updated and therefore the date along with it even if it's the same.

I will pass this to the developers and we'll see if we can change this behavior when the new date of the task is the same as before.

Best regards,
David

Correct. If the task is not moving to another day then it shouldn't go grey.

I get the same thing happening...but not all the time. It usually occurs on the first edit of a task. If, however, I re-edit the task, the re-edit is black and not grey.

Like Martin, I will a edit a task due today and it will sometimes show "moved to today" even though the day was never changed (also happens with a task due tomorrow, etc., even though the date hasn't been changed).

Again, this happens frequently...but not always. Strange.

Cliff you're right. The problem only happens on the first edit made that task in a "day" view. Never noticed that before.

Hello,

This issue is now fixed. We've introduced real-time management of tasks on the today/7 days views. If you change a due date of a task, it will be moved to the new day right away, but if you edit a task without changing the date, it will stay where it was.

Best regards,
David

Thanks David

Makes much more sense now.
