syncing with gmail

I have a gmail account - hosted domain. I just added Todoist to chrome and proceeded to set up. In settings, I click on "authorizations" and then click "Connect with my google account" but it doesn't do anything. I've disabled the popup blocker because I thought that might be the issue. I'm not sure what to do next because when I open my gmail account I don't see anything to show me that Todoist is there and actually synced.

Hello Luke,

Clicking on "Connect with my Google account" will indeed open a new popup window (a full pop-up, not just an in-app window), therefore please make sure that there isn't any other plugin affecting popups activated (such as ad- or script-blockers). In this window, you'll be asked to log in to your Google account (if you're not logged in already).

If you're using the latest version of Chrome (24.0.1312.52 m) and it still won't work, please try a different browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera) and let me know if the issue persist.

Very helpful. Turns out even though I disabled the popup blocker for Todoist (I'm using Better Pop Up Blocker 2.1.6 with Chrome), I needed to completely disable it completely or "Temporarily allow all globally" - that did the trick and it let me go through with registering it with my gmail.

I now would like to be able to use Todoist with my gmail account but when I open the gmail account, the Todoist icon doesn't appear in the browser up near the favorite star where the tutorial video says it will appear. Any thoughts on this?

Please send me a link to the video you're referring to. Also, please tell me - have you started using Todoist by getting it from the Google Apps Marketplace?

No, I found Todoist on the Chrome Web Store and added it there. So, I just went to the marketplace and found it there and added it to my gmail account. I checked in my settings for the domain and it shows that I have now added it.

I then opened my email but it hasn't appeared yet. Not sure if it takes awhile for it to appear - I saw somewhere that it might take up to 24 hours to appear?

Luke,

The orange TD icon should appear instantly when you install our Todoist for Chrome plugin and you'll be able to link to emails right away. This has actually nothing to do with Google Apps, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Please make sure that you've got the Chrome plugin through this site: http://todoist.com/chrome and that it's active in Chrome's "Extensions" list (in Settings -> Extensions). Also, what version of Chrome are you using? 24.0.1312.52 m? You could also try to disable all other plugins in your browser and see it the icon will appear, then enable them one-by-one to see which one causes the issue.

I downloaded the plugin from the site you recommended and it promptly added it - hmm. Not sure how I messed up on that because I believe I downloaded it before. Guess not. Another case of operator error :) Thanks so much.
