Repetitive due dates not working (for me)...

J

I am trying to import a bunch of my repetitive tasks from Remember the Milk and am having a hell of a time getting repetitive tasks to recognize future dated repetitive tasks. For instance:

If I enter "phone bill" and want this task due this coming up Friday (Jan 18th) but be due every 2 weeks, Todoist picks Feb 8th, then every 2nd Friday. If I put that the task is due jan 18th, it figures it out.

This seems to only be a problem with bi-weekly due dates, as monthly ones and weekly ones work just fine.

Why are the bi-weekly ones defaulting to the following month before starting?

Hello Jamie,

In case of tasks that should repeat every 2 weeks, you can use the "ev 14 days" formula. In this particular case, please use the following due date:

every 14 days starting Friday

Great. I tried that and it worked!

It would be nice to have 2 separate fields for due date and repeating. Or dare I suggest going the way of RTM, and using hashtags like * or ^ to designate repeating a task and it's due date. :)

Jamie,

At Todoist, we always try to make the user experience as simple as possible and using one due date field quickly accessible with the TAB key the best solution without any special syntax for different occasions.

You're welcome to check our documentation about supported due dates here: https://todoist.com/Help/timeInsert and find more information about Todoist's shortcuts, text formatting etc. on the help pages. They can be accesses through the question mark icon in the top-right corner and of course if you have any questions or need assistance with any feature, don't hesitate to ask anytime :)

Best regards,
David
