Thunderbird plugin doesn't work
I've recently installed todoist thunderbird extension, but apparently it doesn't work properly. In fact it doesn't work at all - I can't see TD icon anywhere, even though the extension has status "on" in extension manager.
I'am using Windows 7 on PC with latest release of Mozilla Thunderbird.
try the following:
right click on the toolbar and select "customize" (or something like this, my Thunderbird isn't in english)
Scroll down and you will see the todoist button
drag and drop it to the toolbar
Found it, launched it, works perfect.
Thanks a lot!
Sure. I open the sidebar.
And then a I see nothing but an empty sidebar with Todoist at the top.
No ability to log in, specify an account, specify an API token, etc. There is no 'options' button in the add-ons manager, either. How on earth do I link my account with the plugin?
Please try to right-click within the empty pane or the top of it and see if you'll get a context menu allowing you to refresh or log out.
If this won't work, open Firefox (our plugin uses Firefox's settings), go to Options -> Privacy, choose "Use custom settings for history" and make sure that both first- and third-party cookies are accepted. You can also try to clear Firefox's cache and offline app data.
Right. I generally disallow 3rd party cookies -- do you know what sites I'd need to white-list?
I couldn't get a context menu to pop up & allowing cookies didn't seem to have an impact. However, after clearing my offline data and cache, it worked.
Now to explore settings/see if I can get a CSS working to set the colors as I like. =)
I have the same issue as the original post: I've installed the Thunderbird Extension, but there is no Todoist icon. However, when I right-click > Customize on the toolbar, there is no Todoist icon to choose from, either.
I'm running Thunderbird 17.0.4 on Linux Mint.
Please try to update to Thunderbird 17.0.5 and if the issue persist there as well, please tell me - do you see the Todoist plugin on the Add-ons list? If so - is it activated?
Hi David, I updated and the problem is fixed! Sorry for bugging you on an old version, I had checked for Thunderbird updates yesterday and none had been available so I thought I was safe :)
I have a similar problem with TB 17.0.5: I can see the login and it seems to recognize what I am typing (complains if I use a wrong passwd). But nothing happens if I use the right passwd and the right login! The login just remains unchanged although it seems to do some data correspondence as I can see below.
On firefox 20.0 everything is fine. I tried to clear cache and history but didn't work out for TB. I allready tried to reinstall todoist. Nothing. Any ideas?
I am using LinuxMint
Please install Firefox 20.0.1, go to Firefox's Options -> Privacy, choose "Custom settings for history" and make sure that both first- and third-party cookies are accepted.
Using thunderbird 24.0 on ubuntu 12.04 the todoist button has suddenly disappeared. (no context menu on right click).
Have you tried clearing the cache for Thunderbird, or Firefox? Also, if you right click on the menu bar, to add a new addon, does Todoist show in the list?
I have the todoist icon, and when I click on it the pane opens. It allows me to log in with my google login, but when I click on the entry box, my browser (chrome) pops up with the google log in page. If i log in, I'm taken to my account page, but the thunderbird pane still shows the login screen.
What's going on?
Thank you for your report, we're looking into it now.
Could you please confirm if the issue persists in this version of our plugin: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/7338bf6f12a49ad2e4418a4adae400ff/as/todoist_for_thunderbird-4.1-tb.xpi ?
I am having the same issue with Google login on 4.1.
Please tell me - did the version of the plugin I've posted above helped? Even though it's the same version number, it contains a quick fix for this issue.
If not, as a workaround, you could log in through the web, then edit/add a password to your Todoist account and use manual login in Thunderbird with the newly set Todoist password.
Yes, that one did work. I didn't understand that it was different at first. Thanks!
