I am e-mailing messages from my Outlook account to Todoist using the dedicated e-mail address for each project, but for some reason the new tasks are not appearing in the correct list.

U

For example, I just e-mailed a message titled "Check reference e-mail <date tomorrow> to my "Reference Services" project, but it doesn't appear in that list even after I refresh the list. It DOES, however, appear when I do a query on the word "reference." Thanks!

Hello Jennifer,

Please tell me:
- Does the project you're sending your tasks to have an asterisk * in front of its name?
- When you query the word "reference", what project is being listed on the right side of this result? A different existing project or "Undefined"?

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

The project doesn't have an asterisk in front, and when I query the word "reference," the correct project actually appears on the right side of the result. But when I go back to the actual project, the new task isn't there. However, when I then do a sort in that project, i.e., "sort by date," "sort by name," then the new task appears. And just reloading the page won't work, you have to actually sort within the project to get the e-mailed tasks to appear. Weird!

Not a big deal, really, as long as I remember to sort. But, if this is easily fixable, it would be great to have the task appear immediately in the project, without sorting.

Thanks for looking into my question!

Best,
Jen Bartlett

Jen,

Please log out of Todoist, try to clear your browser's cache, app data and offline storage, reload the browser, log in and check if you can see the newly added task without sorting.

Also, try to use your browser's unchached mode (in Chrome - Ctrl+Shift+N, in Firefox - Ctrl+Shift+P) to check if your tasks can be seen without sorting there.

Best regards,
David
