Outlook addin: can't reduce screen width
I started using Todoist (via the Outlook addin) on Friday. At the time, I had set the Todoist pane to be a floating window approx 4 or 5 inches wide, hovering over the Outlook calendar pane I wasn't using.
This morning, the window doesn't fit in that space anymore - if I squeeze it down to that size, the Projects list takes up too much space and the tasks are truncated at the right (not wrapping anymore).
Did something change on your end, or is it more likely that I changed something while fiddling with it on other platforms over the weekend? (mobile / web)
It's working now: the left panel with the Projects went back to being collapsed. Not sure how/why, but glad it's back to how it's supposed to be.
We're glad to hear that it's working for you now. It might be possible that a project with a long name (without spaces in the name) was displayed on your list (a task was due from this project) and it could cause such issue.
If you experience it in the future, you're welcome to send a screenshot to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks, I will keep that in mind if it happens again.
Note that what I was observing was the web interface, with the Projects pane at the left, was being displayed inside the Outbox addin window.
Today I double-clicked somewhere at the top of the normal add-in view, and the Outlook add-in is again displaying in web mode.
It has the TD logo at the top and the project list at the left, which takes up a lot of room.
Is there a trick to return it to the more compact add-in view? Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, in order to identify the source of this issue, we would have to know where exactly did you click to see the web-app view in the Todoist plugin?
For now, to get back to the old view, please close and reopen Outlook.
Thanks for the workaround of restarting Outlook - very handy to know. As a result, I've just figured out how to reproduce this issue.
If I type "va @<anything>" it goes into the weird web mode I described. (Example: "va @test")
What I was trying to do was view everything with a certain tag.
Have since realized the correct way to do this is by just entering the @tag itself. But it's still odd that it goes into web mode if you type "va" with an extra parameter.
Thank you for this information, I've been able to reproduce this issue and we will address it in the next update.
This issue has been fixed in the updated version of our Outlook plugin.
Please uninstall the old version in your "Programs and Features" list in the Control Panel (it's listed as "OutlookTodoist") and then download and install the new version from this location: http://todoist.com/static/outlook/Todoist_For_Microsoft_Outlook.exe
