Outlook addin: "This task has no notes" but task shows 2 - can't read them

AR

I just added 2 notes to a task, but when I open the task and click the Notes, it gives me the message "This task has no notes."

I put some important info in there and need to see the note...how do I open it?

Hello Amanda,

Please try to go to the full web-app at todoist.com and see if you can access the notes through there. If you do, try to clear Internet Explorer's cache (the Outlook plugin always uses Internet Explorer to connect).

If you can't see them, please tell me - do you see the number of notes next to the note icon on the right side of the task name?

Best regards,
David

I tested it in a freshly installed browser so there was no cache. I still saw the same behavior.
The collapsed task shows '2' next to the note symbol, which is the correct number of notes I saved. But when I click to open the Notes, I get the error mentioned above.

Amanda,

Please try to complete this task and then go either to the "Get completed tasks" section (at the bottom of the task list) or the completion history ("# Complete") in the upper-right corner and see if you can access the notes from there.

Best regards,
David

Having trouble because I'm using the web client but it's forcing mobile mode which has no notes.

How to I escape the mobile jail?

Found the answer in another thread:

"You could try to access the full web-app through your mobile browser, but to do so, you'll need to log out from the mobile /m site and use the link at the bottom to force an access to the regular site."

Will try that and report back.

The note contents DO appear in Safari (iPad version). This is reassuring.

Amanda,

I'm glad to hear that you have found the missing notes. This would suggest caching issues. You've mentioned that you've tested it in a freshly installed browser. Please tell me - what browser was it and have you ever used it before and re-installed it or was it the first time you've installed it on your computer?

Best regards,
David

Strange - today it's working fine within Outlook and on the web.

I thought I had looked at it on Friday within a brand-new instance of Chrome (freshly-installed for the first time), but after checking my history I see it had opened in IE9 not Chrome. When I opened it from my phone over the weekend (Safari) it was fine from that point on.

Thanks for the super-amazing responsiveness - even if it was a fleeting glitch it was very reassuring knowing you guys were there to help.

I'm getting the same problem in the latest Firefox - my task shows as having 2 notes in the task list, but when I click the note icon, it shows the task as having no notes. I cleared my cache but that didn't do anything. I can see the notes in Chrome though, so I know the data is there.

Hello JG,

Please tell me, aside from the cache, did you also clear the offline application data? Please go to Options -> Advanced -> Network and remove the offline data and todoist.com from the list of sites using offline storage, then reload the browser and when it asks you for permission to store offline data, choose "Allow".

Also, try to access Todoist through Private Browsing mode (Ctrl+Shift+P) and let me know if the issue persists.

Best regards,
David
