It seems that full text search does not work on completed tasks. Those are the tasks that I am most likely going to need to search.
Hello Glenn, the in-task search (q: ) does include completed tasks in the results, but only as long as they're still stored within the project. If you've ever used the "Delete completed" option (link at the bottom of a task list), then none of the completed tasks from this project will appear in the search results. However, aside from completed tasks, Todoist tracks the completion history which can be accessed through the "## Completed" link in the top-right corner. This list doesn't have a query option, but you can filter the whole completion history by project, time and label.Best regards,David
I click on"Get completed tasks"That gives me a list of completed tasks. For instance, the following task has been completed:"transfer video files to my computer"I then type in the search box:q: videoand get the following back:Active items No tasks foundCompleted tasks No tasks foundI would expect the task that contains the search term to show up in the search list.
I just created a new project called "test" and a task called "test task".I then did a search for "test" [q: test]The test task was returned in the "Active Items" list. I then completed the task and repeated the search. Nothing was returned.I then marked the task as not complete and redid the search. The result was returned in the "Active items list".Clearly, searching for completed tasks is not working.
Glenn, thank you for this information, I've been able to reproduce this issue now. It seems to affect only recently added/completed tasks as I still can search for completed items that have been completed a long time ago.I have passed this issue to the developers and we'll try to fix this bug as soon as we can. Sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you and thank you for your report.Best regards,David
hello, could you please provide an option to see the date when the task wascompleted?
Hello Krasimir,This option is already available in Todoist Premium. You can click on the Karma score at the top, then "View All Completed" and you will see a list of all completed tasks from all projects sorted by date with their exact time of completion listed and you can filter it by project, timeframe or label.Best regards,David
