My notes will not open on completed tasks

S

When I attempt to open a note on a completed task I get a blank note screen with small lines scrolling across the top of the screen. I cannot open any notes on a task that is completed.

Hello Susie,

please log out of Todoist, clear your cache and offline storge data, reload the browser and log back in through todoist.com (directly, not through a bookmark).

If this won't solve this issue, please tell me:
- Which browser are you using?
- Can you reproduce this issue in at least 1 other browser (if so - which one)?
- Are you referring to the "Get completed tasks" list at the bottom of your task list or to the "# Completed" history in the upper-right corner?

Best regards,
David

I cleared my cache, history, passwords, etc
I always use Chrome so that is where I found the problem.

I went back into chrome and tried clicking "Get completed tasks," with the same results. I first found the problem when clicking in the Completed tasks at the top of the screen

I tried opening notes on completed items in both Firefox and IE

Firefox responded the same as Chrome

IE has a little different results. When I click on Completed tasks at the top of the screen I can open the notes on the first completed task, but none of the others. When I click on Get Completed Tasks I get an offer to purchase your Premium software.

Susie,

I still can't reproduce this issue.

Please go to Chrome's Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data and remove todoist.com from the list. Then reload the browser and go directly to todoist.com (not through a bookmark).

If this won't help, try to use Chrome's incognito window (Ctrl+Shift+N) and access Todoist through there.

If this issue persists there as well, please tell me - can you add a new test task with a new note, then complete it and try to access the note both in the "Get completed tasks" link at the bottom and then the "# Completed" history at the top?

Best regards,
David

I did the steps as you suggested. After changing advanced setting I got same results. Same for Incognito. I was able to create a new task, mark it as complete, and view the notes. However, I still cannot view the notes from tasks I had completed previously.

Thanks for your help

Hello Susie,

I've been able to partially reproduce this. Please clarify - if you click on the note icon, do you see the three "pending" bars in the note box?

Best regards,
David

Are you referring to the bars that scroll across top of the screen? If so, yes that is what I see.

I am having the same problem here using Internet explorer. The notes on the first completed task will open but not on earlier tasks. I am seeing the same screen David referenced above.

Same here on FF and IE. I can see the "pending" bar as well but the notes won't open.

I went through all the steps you gave me in Chrome, Firefox, and IE9. I have a list of my completed tasks w/ the number of notes, thinking possibly it was the number of notes or size of the file with the notes in it. I did't seem to make any difference if I have 1 note or 10. It appears to be so random which notes will open and which will not. However, in my little tiny brain, I know something has to be something in common in the notes I cannot open.

I run Todoist three different ways and wonder if it could be the notes I added or opened, or something in one of these. Most oft I open the program directly from my browser, Chrome. Although I have something installed on my toolbar that opens it in smaller are on my screen, I rarely use that, however I did in the beginning. I have opened it on my Kindle Fire although I do not recall what I did on the Fire. Lastly, I use Safari on my iPhone to enter and edit tasks, I do not have the app installed on my phone. To be honest when I am at an appointment, or dinner with bad company, I open tasks, make changes, add notes, basically just clean up my projects. This is done on my iPhone with Safari. I

I have appointments today so I plan on playing with notes I can open and when I get home I will open notes on tasks I have messed with on the Fire and iPhone and possibly there could be a connection there. You would know better than I if that is even a possibility. I can tell you it is always the same notes I cannot open, others open fine every time.

Will let you know if I can find anything in the manner notes are entered, updated, or a task is marked completed. Last night I made myself a flowchart so hopefully I won't miss any combinations of data entry.

Have a good day,
Susie

One last thing, I have noticed I have had todoist open in two windows in my browser at the same time. Obviously, I am not the most organized person.
