Can't move overdue recurring tasks to today?
I use lots of recurring tasks to keep up with routine items. However, this means if I don't get to one of them that day, they fall into 'overdue' and once in overdue, the only option to change the date is to edit the recurring date which will change the future instances, or postpone it until its next occurrence. End result is I end up with overdue tasks on various days scattered at the top and bottom of my view, and no way to consolidate them onto a single prioritized list of what I'm doing today.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to have overdue recurring tasks appear in today's list so I can sort them for today?
My standard view is '7 days, overdue, no date'
unfortunately, it's not possible to move a recurring date to the next day if its formula doesn't include tomorrow or today as next instance. For example, if you have a task due "every Monday" and haven't completed it, on Tuesday, you'll see it as overdue and can either complete it or postpone it to the next Monday.
Overdue tasks also trigger the red colored notification (the number of tasks due) to remind you that you've missed some tasks, moving them to today or tomorrow would make them appear as if they're regular (not missed) tasks.
Still, you're welcome to add a request for such feature to our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/ and we may consider it in future development.
This is still my top peeve for todoist. It's impossible to plan my day or week when I have missed recurring tasks scattered around my task list.
I can't seem to create a new item on votebox. Could you create one for me so I can vote for it? TIA!
there shouldn't be any limitations for adding suggestion to the Votebox, could you please tell me - do you see any particular error messages when trying to add a new suggestion? If so - what do they say and can you reproduce this in at least 1 different browser?
We would greatly appreciate your help to make sure there aren't any bugs in the Votebox itself.
Hmm, I see it now. Might have just had right-side-of-screen blindness and missed the link.
I've created http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/530/ for this idea.
