For performance reasons you can only add 80 projects. Please archive or delete some of your finished projects.

Why? I have a premium account.

Hello Asfer,

we've introduced a HTML5 version of Todoist recently and to make sure it scales properly, we had to set such limits for now. This limitation is temporary and will be gradually lifted. We're sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you.

As a workaround, if it's possible, please try to group some projects - if they don't have many tasks and can be put under one project, you could indent them as sub-tasks under a main task named after the old project.

Best regards,
David

Hello,

we will soon change the limits and Todoist Premium customers will be able to have over 20,000 active tasks (and free accounts over 4,000).

Please note that these limitations do not affect archived projects or tasks moved to history.

Best regards,
David

Please fix this quickly. I have a Premium account and have already deleted dozens of projects, and I still cannot add a new one.

Hello Luke,

the current limit of 80 projects does not include archived projects. Please archive inactive or completed projects until you have less than 80 active projects on your list.

David

Too late, was in a hurry this morning. Most of the things you guys implement are very good, but forcing your Premium members to archive/delete potentially hundreds of projects to even add one is an extremely poor UEX decision.

i am stunned by this. assuming members have less than 80 active projects is not a helpful solution.

Hello David,

unfortunately, for technical reasons, some limitations are necessary. The current limitation allows you to have 12,000 active tasks at once (150 tasks in 80 projects) and it will be extended in the future for Premium accounts.

David

I have more than 80 active projects and will not let me add more by this limitation. My first question is if I have problems with the projects I have to overcome the limit.
When will remove this limitation?

Best regards
Javi

Hello Javi,

this limit might be extended in the future, but for technical reasons, some limitations will apply permanently. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Please note that the limit applies only to active projects and you can archive a project without deleting it and it will no longer count towards the total. Also, the current limit allows you to have 12,000 active tasks.

If archiving projects is not an option, please try to move tasks from projects with few tasks into one project and you could create parent tasks or headers (tasks with an asterisk * in front of the name) for them with names of the former projects.

Best regards,
David

-1 and a big thumbs down for the new 150 task limit!

This really messes up my projects.

Can you increase this limit for premium users? - should be more like 500-1000.

Can't see any technical reason why this is necessary. I can understand the objection for "unlimited tasks" or for people abusing the system (surely only a handful at most), but there really isn't any valid technical reason for the 150 limit, other than to reduce bandwidth costs. For premium users this cannot be justified as we're paying for it!

Please advise when this decision wil be reversed or the limit increased for premium users.

Thanks

How about an opt-out button that individuals can use to override this? If there are only a few of us affected by this it seems that should not impact overall performance.
