What does it mean that Todoist is in HTML5 available?

Unfortunately i am not a specialist - i got your mail with the news about Todoist in HTML5 and i noticed that i have to decide whether i enter Todist via Firefox or via HTML5 as it shows up on the bottom of the login site ...

Does this mean: If i am connected to the internet i access Todoist via Firefox and if i am not i choose HTML5?

Or have i to install a plugin for Firefox for HTML5 and connect to Todoist via Firefox no matter of on- or off-line?

And is this only a beta version or is it bug proof?

Please tell me more! I am not a friend of risky tryings so i prefer to get more advice ...

Thanks in advance - and sorry for not knowing enough to just jump on the new chance ...

Kind regards Chris

Hello Chris,

basically - you don't need to do anything. Simply go to todoist.com and enjoy superfast desktop-like performance :)

HTML5 is a programming language in which Todoist is now written. This language allows us to use some new technologies to offer you the best speed and accessibility as well as offline storage.

This means that, unlike before, if you lose your internet connection while using Todoist, you can continue to add, complete tasks, project etc. which wasn't possible before.

It's not a beta test and the HTML5 version is already up and running. We have noticed some glitches after launch, but we're working on fixing them all the time and they shouldn't affect your experience while using the service.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask anytime.

Sorry just another related question.
But if I have to start my PC without an Internet connection?

Hello Mauro,

in such case, you'll also be able to access it under some circumstances.

This may not work in all browsers yet, but in Chrome, you'll need to access the site offline through the URL including the current version number.

Right now, that would be: http://todoist.com/app?v=53

If it won't work, go to Chrome's Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data, remove all instances of todoist.com from the list. Then, access the URL above while being connected to the internet and log in.

From now on, until the version number changes, you should be able to access it even while you're not connected to the internet at all.

Just wanted to let you guys know what a great job you've done with this application. I use it religiously and it's probably the best task manager (and I've tried quite a few) that I've ever used.

Keep up the good work.
