Subtasks move when changing project of item with subtasks

Since the HTML5 upgrade, when I drag an item with subtasks to a different project and subtasks of that item and others in the destination project get mixed up. The subtasks get moved automatically to the wrong parent task.

I love the speed of the upgrade but this is frustrating....reproducible almost every time.

Thanks!

To add to this, when the item is dragged into the destination project it is not placed at the bottom of the list, sometimes it appears at a random location.

Hello Michael,

thank you very much for your report, I've been able to reproduce it and have passed it to the developers. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this bug.

For now, as a workaround, please try to move your tasks using the multi-select feature. Press and hold CTRL, then click on all the tasks you want to move and use the "Move to project" option from the menu at the top.

Best regards,
David

Thank you for the reply David.

Actually I did try this and the result is the same. It seems like it happens no matter which way I move the task (via single item menu, ctrl clicking multiple, or dragging).

Thanks again!

Michael,

I can't reproduce this issue using the multi-select option. Please clarify - are you selecting the complete task structure (the main task and all its sub-tasks) and then choose the destination project using the "Move to project" option at the top?

Also, can you reproduce this in 2 newly created projects with some test tasks/sub-tasks?

Best regards,
David

David,

I actually did not select the complete tasks structure, only the parent. When I try by selecting both parent and subtasks it seems to work fine. Sorry about the confusion.

I did test this out with 2 new project and result is the same. The items get jumbled up.

Thanks,

Michael

Hello Michael,

this issue has been fixed now. You can safely move task structures using the drag & drop feature and they will be maintained and will appear at the bottom of the target project's task list.

Best regards,
David
