Gmail integration with Google Chrome not working

PM

I am new user and just upgraded to the premium service, as I really like Todoist. However, it is critical to me that the gmail integration work.

According to your instructions" After logging into your Todoist account on any of the browser plugins, please click on the "Show projects" link at the top and choose the project you'd like to add an email-task to. Once you enter the project, scroll down to the bottom of your task list and next to "Add task" and "Reorder", you should see a link saying "Add website as tasks" if you're browsing any website or "Add email as tasks" if you're viewing a GMail message."

I do not see the "Reorder" or "Add email as tasks' when I am viewing an email in Gmail." I only see the "Add websi8te as tasks." Help.

Hello Pat,

the "Reorder" link is no longer available since we've implemented drag & drop reordering.

The "Add website as task" link should automatically change to "Add email as task" once you open a message in Gmail. If it doesn't, please make sure the URL in the address bar contains a unique message ID. For example:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?shva=1#inbox/1387ae02e4e50f31

where "1387ae02e4e50f31" would be the ID.

If it doesn't, please tell me:
- Are you using any GMail Labs extensions (the Preview Pane, for example, removes the message ID)?
- Are you using any browser plugins which may change the address?

Best regards,
David

Great, thank you. It was the Preview Pane. Now, having found that to be the problem, I find the Preview Pane very useful, so is there any work around for this? That is, another way to get the unique message ID without having to give up the Preview Pane?

I am very impressed with the support, your timely response is great!

Pat,

unfortunately, we haven't found any other way to track an individual message if its ID is being hidden. You don't need to completely disable the Preview Pane extension. Choosing "No split" from the Pane options (next to the settings in the upper-right corner) will display the message ID so you can temporarily turn off the split preview screen when adding email as tasks.

We're sorry for the inconvenience, but for now, the only solution would be to contact the authors of the Preview Pane extension (you can use the "Send feedback" option in the Labs) and point out the issue of the non-displaying message ID and its effect on plugins relaying on it

Best regards,
David
