Can't disable reminders.

AG

I'm not a Todoist Premium user.

A couple of days ago some of my recurring tasks suddenly had an email reminder associated to them (system bug) that I can't disable because I haven't got a Todoist Premium account.

How could I disable them? It's very annoying to receive all those emails of daily recurring tasks.

I've a lot of tasks and notes, so please if there's any risk of data loss please consider granting me Premium permissions for a day/hours just to disable those reminders manually.

Thanks!

Hello Alejandro,

please clarify - are you receiving a reminder with a short information that a task needs to be completed or a "Daily Digest" with an overview of the upcoming tasks?

David

It's not the Daily Digest definitely, which I opted-out of.

It's clearly an email task reminder, just one task. This is the format of these emails (I've replaced real names with placeholder text):

---

Subject: "Reminder: task_name (project_name)"

Body:

'task_name'
is due in 27 minutes (29. Jun 2012 at 11:30)

Task is in 'project_name' ( http://url/to/projectid: http://url/to/projectid )

I'm now having this same issue. I'm not a premium user, yet for some reason I'm getting email reminders for tasks that are due, and I can't see any way to turn them off. Help?

Jonathan,

could you please tell us - do the tasks that you're getting a reminders for have a due time (for example: tom at 6pm) or just a due date or no date at all? If they do have a date/time, could you please post it here?

Best regards,
David

David - they all seem to have due dates and times. Essentially I get an email for each of the repeating tasks that I have set to a specific time each day. i.e. "read book" every day at 8pm. I have received about 13 of these emails since last night. This is separate from the daily digest.

Jonathan,

this issue should be fixed now, please confirm or let us know if you'll still receive any email reminders.

I'm sorry to tell you that email reminders are still there...

every weekday @ 10:00
every day @ 12:00
every weekday @ 17:00
every day @ 19:00

Additionally, the recurring task time is not being displayed properly since long ago... I've tried removing the due date and then re-entering it, with no luck.

http://twitpic.com/a3r2zl/full

every weekday @ 10:00 → Displayed as 12:00 (+2h?¿)
every day @ 12:00 → Displayed as 14:00 (+2h?¿)
every weekday @ 17:00 → Displayed as 18:00 (+1h?¿)
every day @ 19:00 → 19:00 (correct!)

Alejandro,

please clear your browser's cache and let us know if you receive any reminders.

As for the second issue, please tell me:
- What timezone is selected in your Todoist Preferences?
- What timezone is set on your computer (note - please check the actual time zone settings as they may differ even if the system clock is set properly)?
- Can you reproduce this issue in different browsers?

Best regards,
David

Sounds like Todoist is scamming people. That's bullshit you cannot simply click a check box in preferences to disable emails.

Hello Justin,

you can disable reminders by going to Todoist Preferences (gear icon in the upper-right corner) -> Reminders and choose "no default reminder".

If you want to unsubscribe from all other messages we send you, you can do so using the "Click here to unsubscribe" link placed in every notification.

Best regards,
David

Hiya - I'm unable to turn off reminders that I had set when I was a Premium member.

The reminder email includes the date, time and task that is due, which I had set for daily tasks. I would love to stop these emails since I get several each day.

Thanks!

Hi Erin,

That should not be possible, as they would be disabled when you go free. Have you found the task that has the reminder, and tried to remove it?

I would also suggest signing out of all locations, clearing cache for apps/browsers and logging back in.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

Logging out and back in again fixed it.

Thanks!
