Incorrect date for next occurrence if repeat is > 1 months?

Hi,

I noticed a strange behaviour when setting up a task that repeats every 2 months.

There seems to be a certain pattern (all tasks completed on 24 June):
after 1 months starting 21 Jun -> next on 24 Jul -> OK
after 2 months starting 21 Jun -> next on 23 Aug -> 1 day off
after 3 months starting 21 Jun -> next on 22 Sep -> 2 days off
every 1 months starting 21 Jun -> next on 21 Jul -> OK
every 2 months starting 21 Jun -> next on 20 Aug -> 1 day off
every 3 months starting 21 Jun -> next on 19 Sep -> 2 days off

Is it just a misunderstanding on my part or is the date really off?

Best Regards
Jutta

Hello Jutta,

this functions considers "a month" as 30 days, therefore, each time a month has 31 days, it will be a day off:
- after 1 month = after 30 days
- after 2 months = after 60 days
- after 3 months = after 90 days
etc.

Best regards,
David

I've run into a problem with this also. Why would such a function consider a month to be 30 days? That's not reality. When I use "every 3 months start 8/1/2012", I would expect the first completion to change the task to 11/1/2012, but instead it becomes 10/30/2012. I didn't specify every 90 days, I specified every 3 months.

Hello Steven,

we're sorry for the inconvenience. This feature is fairly new and there are some technical difficulties to relocate the task to the same day after X months, therefore, but we will certainly consider improving it in the future.

Best regards,
David
